April 2017 Monthly Recap && May 2017 Monthly Goals

April 2017 Monthly Recap && May 2017 Monthly Goals

April was a rough month for me, to say the least. So I am hoping that my May 2017 Monthly Goals will be helpful and reachable.

I struggle with anxiety and depression and this month it showed up a lot more than normal. It usually isn’t very severe and is quite manageable, but it still sucks and is no fun. On top of that I have been dealing with a nasty cold that just won’t go away. Needless to say my energy was low this month. However life still goes on and I had such a busy and CRAZY month.

I finished up my 3rd year of college this month (yay!). Work was extra busy because we had our Spring radio auction. I reached a pretty big milestone on Dreaming With Love! Overall my life has been a chaotic mess this month. I am choosing to forget about the disappointments and all of the unmet goals and try again this month.

I am sick of the excuses I continue to create for myself. Sick of putting things off because “the time isn’t right”. This month all of that changes. I’m ready to get my life together. There will be some huge changes on Dreaming With Love and in my life in general. Hopefully when I come back here next month to tell you about May, I’ll have some great news to share! NOW let’s get into my April 2017 recap and my May 2017 monthly goals!

But first… How did your April go?

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.

April Recap 2017

Make sure to read my April 2017 Goals before reading the recap!

I’m not going to lie cause that would defeat the purpose of my monthly recap and goals. I didn’t complete any of my goals this month. Like I said I had a very busy month and still had many accomplishments, but none of which were goals I set for myself.

My depression really took over this month so whenever I had free time from work and school, I didn’t do much. I am going to put all of my April goals onto my May 2017 monthly goals. Sometimes we have bad days, weeks, and months. We just have to remember that it is NOT a bad life and it will pass. Push through, take care of yourself, and try not to worry too much.

Here’s to a GREAT month of May!

 Dreaming With Love Recap

Any progress is progress and I am so proud of the progress I have made on Dreaming With Love! April was the 4th month of my blog and I FINALLY hit a total of 1,000 page views! I know this isn’t a huge accomplishment in 4 months, but I’m still really proud. My numbers grew in most areas this month, including my social media accounts, so that makes me VERY happy! Thank you all SOOOOOO much for supporting me in this crazy journey <3

May is going to be a VERY exciting month for Dreaming With Love! I am doing a HUGE rebranding on my website and all my social media platforms. Finally I feel like I figured out what I want, for now at least. I would love to hear any input you have on my current and new design (coming soon)! But give me a break because I don’t like the current design either, haha. By the time you’re reading this I (hopefully) have done a lot of changing already.

May 2017 Monthly Goals

A lot of these goals will be the same as April’s goals, but there are a few new ones as well. Also if you want help creating achievable goals, I wrote a post with some of my best tips!

1. Start Newsletter

It’s finally going to happen. I did my research and chose the platform I am going to use. I hope to get at least 5 people signed up during May so keep your eye out for a sign up form!

In the beginning I won’t send out very many, maybe 2 a month? But I know I want to include exclusive content, access to free resources, updates, and an overview of what is going on with Dreaming With Love.

2. Finish (at least) 1 Crochet Project

I haven’t decided what I want to crochet yet, but it will be something small because I’m not very good yet. I think I want to make something for mother’s day. Also if possible I would like to do a few more projects this month. Follow me on Instagram to see pictures of the finished projects!

3. Read (at least) 1 book

I want to try to get back in the habit of reading a little bit every day or every other day. This month I want to finish one book and to ease myself back into reading I decided to pick an easier and shorter book than normal. I am going to read Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I’ve had this book for a long time, but have never read it. I’m very excited to get back into reading.

4. Daily Journal

Daily journaling is SO freeing and helpful for me. I haven’t done it in months and I don’t know why. I used to do it first thing in the morning for about 30 minutes while I drank my coffee. It’s something that helped me cope with the ideas and thoughts going on in my mind and I really miss it. If you struggle with any mental health problems I think it is especially helpful for that!

I plan on getting back into a morning routine this month so hopefully I am able to stick to it!

5. Stop Biting Nails

I haven’t done so in about a week which is a huge accomplishment for me! If you read my April Favorites then you know I have been using Nail Envy Nail Strengthener from OPI and it has been a game changer. This polish strengthens my nails while also being a reminder throughout the day to NOT bite my nails.

This has been testing my will power, but I really want to stick to it! I hate being so embarrassed of my gross nails. I will post a before and after picture eventually, but for now they are still too gross. Haha.

6. Scholarships

Finals consumed my life in April so I wasn’t able to start applying to scholarships yet, which sucks. This month I want to make a list of all the scholarships I want to apply to over the summer (I’ll probably add to it as time goes on). Then I also want to apply to at least 5 scholarships this month. Wish me luck! && I’d love it if you have any tips on finding and applying to scholarships!

7. Make a Gardening Plan

I feel like I am getting a late start on this, but I’ve never had any kind of garden before so I’m not really sure. I want to do some research and make a plan for what I want to plant, when to plant it, and how to take care of it. Nothing too fancy, but a few easy vegetables would be awesome for my first garden! Please let me know any tips you have!

8. 30 Day Fitness Challenge

I posted a 30 Day Bikini Body Fitness Challenge that I was supposed to do during April, but I didn’t at all. However, I started it yesterday and really hope I can stick to it!

9. Get my Life Together

This may sound like a very vague goal, but I have a plan! May is going to be a month of decluttering and organizing in my home! Along with that I have started putting together a budget binder, a life binder, and a new and improved blog binder!

Plus I am incorporating a morning, night, and cleaning routines! Routines really help me keep my life on track so I am SO excited to be bringing them back!

What are some of your May 2017 Monthly Goals??

April 2017 Monthly Favorites

April was a good month for discovering new monthly favorites! The month didn’t go as planned what so ever and it was a very busy and crazy month. My April 2017 monthly favorites will show you just how crazy of a month it was. Mostly due to being sick basically the ENTIRE month. Along with that I finished up my 3rd year of college and had an extremely busy month at work.

My favorites don’t always change every month, but I will keep you updated on which ones do! Some months there will be different categories than other months. Here are my April 2017 Monthly Favorites of makeup, entertainment, food, quotes, and other random things.

APRIL 2017 MONTHLY FAVORITES

YOUTUBERS

I have been watching videos from NateWantsToBattle for a few years now. Recently I have been watching them a lot more again. I am a pretty big nerd and his pokemon parodies are some of my favorite songs to jam out to in the car. If you are into video games or enjoy fantastic music then I highly recommend NateWantsToBattle! He just came out with his first album and he is SO talented! Plus he puts SO much hard work into all of his content!

Sarah’s channel popped up in my recommended a few months ago and since I have become obsessed. When I first found her channel it was largely about minimalism and veganism so it isn’t the typical type of channel I like to watch. Yet I did anyways.

Since then she has been focusing more on inspirational messages and tips on how to follow and conquer your dreams. She is so inspiring and I absolutely LOVE her positive attitude! Watching her videos brighten up my mood instantly!

I may be a little biased because she is from Wisconsin, but she is seriously so great!

PlantBasedMatt is Sarah’s husband and he has a similar outlook on life as her. His channel is mainly about veganism, which I have grown more and more interested in since watching them. He only recently started his channel and I LOVE seeing how quickly he is improving in front of the camera!

If you are interested in veganism or living a healthier life then I HIGHLY recommend PlantBasedMatt!

Oh my gosh! This girl gives me so much happiness! She is the sweetest human being ever and makes the CUTEST art projects!

Honestly though she is so incredibly talented! I also love that she will ALWAYS tell it how it is and ALWAYS tell us the honest truth. Her videos are so much fun to watch and I recommend them to anyone who needs a little cheering up!

APPS

  • Google Photos

Google Photos has been a HUGE life saver for me! I have decided to try a little on my Instagram so my memory on my phone has been filling up FAST. Google Photos is a way for me to have the photos and videos on my phone AND computer without taking up extra memory space! I love it so much!

And having access to my photos on any device QUICKLY and EASILY has been amazing! HIGHLY recommend!

  • Risk

I’m sure most of you know about the board game Risk. Well they made it into an app and it now takes up a lot of my time.

  • Musical.ly

Yes I know, I’m super late on this one. I had the app when it was first popular, but deleted it soon after. Now I’m obsessed!

It’s so much fun watching and getting inspiration from other’s videos. && I have a blast making fun videos of me and my kitties. Haha!

  • Burrito Bison

I was SO excited about this one! I used to play this game on the computer and now it’s an app. YAY! More ways for me to procrastinate….

Haha but honestly this is a fantastic game. One game of it doesn’t take long to play so it’s one of the better apps to procrastinate on.

TV SHOWS

  • Weeds

This was recommended to me by one of my friends and I have been loving it. I LOVE that it has a female lead. The show keeps you in suspense sometimes and overall has a good story-line.

  • 13 Reasons Why

I hopped on this bandwagon late and I’m about half way through the season… Still not sure how I feel about it. I already know how it ends because some JERK spoiled it for me. I think the concept for the show is really good, but I’m indifferent about how they went about some of the stuff. But I am going to continue watching and I’ll let you know my final thoughts.

  • Grey’s Anatomy

Yes I know this has been in my past couple of favorites posts, but guess what?? It’s in my April 2017 monthly favorites too!

Still one of my favorite shows even though half of the cast is dead or gone.

FOOD

  • Peeps

What is an April 2017 monthly favorites post without including peeps?

Don’t judge me. Yes I am one of the few people on the planet that likes peeps. So when Easter comes around each year I get more than one person should have.

This year I also incorporated them into an Easter Dessert!

  • Apples

My two food favorites this month are completely opposite.. Haha! I have really been loving apples for a snack though! Most of this month I have been cutting up an apple and bringing it with me after lunch to snack on at work. They taste great, they are healthy for you, and they are VERY affordable! What’s not to like?

BEAUTY PRODUCTS

  • Renpure Originals Coconut Water Mist

I ran out of leave-in conditioner in the beginning of April and when I went to buy the same stuff I have been loving and using for months, the store was all out. So I took a risk and bought this leave-in treatment from Renpure Originals. Now I LOVE it! It smells great, leaves my hair smooth and soft, and removes the tangles so well! Plus it was very inexpensive!

  • OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener

If you read my April monthly goals then you know I am trying to stop biting my nails, it is such a NASTY habit. My mom gave me a bottle of the nail envy nail strengthener from OPI and it has been helping a ton! Having it on my nails not only strengthens them, but also reminds me to NOT bite my nails!

If your nails are weaker than you want, this stuff works miracles!

  • Tarte Maracuja Oil

Still LOVING this oil! Still have the same tiny bottle that I first received. I wrote an entire review on it HERE if you wanna know more about it!

WEBSITES

I’ve loved pinterest for years now. However, this month I have been spending a ton of time on it again. It’s literally the best! So I just HAD to include it in my April 2017 monthly favorites.

I’m sure most of you already know what it is, but for those who don’t it is basically a visual search engine. I get all of my best ideas on every topic from Pinterest! I’d love it if you all checked out my Pinterest profile && leave a link to your pinterest in the comments so I can check out your profile as well!

This site is AWESOME and I know there are other sites similar, but this is my most favorite. Basically it just has every color scheme ever and you can even create your own! You can search for them with certain colors or keywords and I just love it! There is something so calming about seeing beautiful color schemes! && it makes it much easier to create beautiful graphics!

OTHER (LIFESTYLE)

  • DayQuil + NyQuil

If you follow me on twitter then you know I’ve been sick the majority of April. DayQuil and NyQuil were my best friends for a couple of weeks so I had to include them.

  • Rice Pack

I don’t think I’ve ever used my rice pack as much as I did this month. It has been such a BLESSING to have! The sickness has made my entire body sore and the rice pack has helped so much! If you don’t have one, go get one OR they are SUPER easy to make if you know basic sewing.

  • Cough Drops

My sickness passed, but the terrible and annoying cough is STILL here. Cough drops and water are the only things that help. Hoping it goes away soon!

  • Thankful Thursdays

This month I started a new series called Thankful Thursdays and just posted week 4 yesterday! I have been LOVING this series because it has been holding me accountable to really take a step back and be thankful for the little things in life. Now I don’t know if you all are enjoying it or not, but it has been helping me a ton. Check it out and I highly recommend for everyone to do something similar!

Too often in life we only look at everything going bad instead of all of the things going right. They are so easy to overlook, but we need to be reminded of all the things in life to be thankful for!

I hope you enjoyed my April 2017 Monthly Favorites! Let me know what things you have been loving in the month of April as well!

Thankful Thursday Week 4: April 17th-April 23rd {Plus Daily Lessons Learned}

Thankful Thursday Week 4: April 17th-April 23rd {Plus Daily Lessons Learned}

“Gratitude Unlocks the Fullness of Life.”

Thankful Thursday Week 4 is here! This week was VERY busy. The week before my finals. A CRAZY week at work with our Spring Auction on Saturday. Overall it was a GREAT week, just very busy, but I enjoyed it and was able to catch up on sleep at the end of the week.

Check out last week’s Thankful Thursday HERE!

Thankful Thursday Week 4

Monday, April 17th, 2017

Today I am thankful for those who believe in me. Most of you probably don’t know, but video production is my main passion. I LOVE blogging and sharing my thoughts through written words. However ultimately video and film is what I really want to pursue (hence my major being film and media studies).

I haven’t started sharing any of my film work because it just isn’t where I want it to be yet. I still don’t have a nice camera and am saving towards that goal (hopefully very soon!). Then I will be starting my YouTube channel and sharing my journey with all of you.

A lot of people don’t really understand my passion and the goals I have. They don’t think they are realistic or achievable for a small town girl like me. Well today I had a long talk with my boss (who has worked in the film industry for a long time) and hearing from him that he believes in me is HUGE. I am now doing a video project for the him and the radio station I work at and am so excited!

Lesson Learned: Those who don’t understand your passion may doubt your goals, not because of who you are but because they don’t get it. Ignore them and show them that you are more than capable! Surround yourself with those who do believe in you and those who continue to push and inspire you!

Tuesday, April 18th, 2017

Today I am thankful for progress! I hit 1,000 total views on my blog today. I know that is not very good for 3.5 months of blogging, but I am so proud of myself. My progress is steadily growing and even if it is very slowly, I am still so happy and thankful! I have learned SO much in these past 3.5 months with so much more to learn. So excited for what the future has to bring!

Lesson Learned: Any progress is still progress and is always better than nothing. I have a hard time comparing myself to others, but have been focusing on competing with myself instead. Every month I have improved and that is what matters! I am better than I was yesterday. <3

Wednesday, April 19th, 2017

Today I am thankful for rain. Now I absolutely LOVE sunshine, but rain once in a while is SO relaxing. We haven’t had rain in so long and we don’t really get it that often. I enjoy storms and rainy days.

Lesson Learned: Some days the weather sucks and sometimes it is “perfect”. Either way, we can’t control it. Enjoy the beauties of each season and all-weather.

Thursday, April 20th, 2017

Today I am thankful for a place to go home to. This week has been CRAZY at work. Extra hours, busy ALL day long, just plain crazy. Having a place to go home and finally relax is just an amazing feeling. It’s often something I overlook, but I really am so grateful for it.

Lesson Learned: There are SO many things to be grateful for on a daily basis. Having a home is a BLESSING.

Friday, April 21st, 2017

Today I am thankful for the ability to have a job. I had to work an extra 3 hours today and 5 hours tomorrow, on Saturday morning… GROSS. However, I am lucky enough to even have a job. I know multiple people who don’t have jobs for various reasons and if it was up to them they would have one. Yet it is still something I overlook every day.

Lesson Learned: Again there are SO many things to be grateful for everyday. Having a job and the ability to have a job is a BLESSING. Even though I complain about my job often, I still need to be grateful on the daily!

Saturday, April 22nd, 2017

Today I am thankful for traditions. I was able to be a part of a long tradition for the first time and I also took part in a repeating tradition that my brother and I have had for years.

This morning I participated in my first Radio Auction at work. It was “organized chaos” and surprisingly I had a lot of fun. I enjoy that kind of fast paced environment.

After work I headed to my parents to meet up with my brother. We headed to Minnesota to the iMax theater to see The Fate of the Furious. We go see each new movie of the series in the iMax theater, now that we are older. When we were younger we just saw them at the theater haha.

Lesson Learned: Value every tradition, big or small. They are a comforting thing in life that we should be grateful for.

Sunday, April 23rd, 2017

Today I am thankful for my immediate family. I’m always thankful for them, but today I especially was. I stayed the night at my parents last night after the movie. Slept in. Then enjoyed my coffee and talked with my mom. Then I cooked out with my dad and brother for lunch. It was a really relaxing day and I loved it.

Lesson Learned: Enjoy time with your family every chance you get and cherish every moment!

What were you thankful for this week?

Thankful Thursday Week 3

Thankful Thursday Week 3

“When some things go wrong, take a moment for the many more things that are still going right.”

Thankful Thursday Week 3 is here! I had a very relaxing week because I was feeling a little under the weather for most of it (and now I am again too). I didn’t do a whole lot, but some weeks are like that and we still need to be thankful for all we have!

Check out last week’s Thankful Thursday HERE!

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way. All opinions and ideas are my own.

Thankful Thursday Week 3

Monday, April 10th

Today I am thankful for Lysol. If you read last week’s Thankful Thursday or if you follow me on twitter then you already know that I was super sick yesterday and part of today.

When I woke up this morning I was feeling quite a bit better, but nowhere near 100%. So I decided to take advantage of it and get some cleaning/disinfecting done.

Whenever someone in the house is sick, I always try to disinfect everything as soon as possible. So I got out the Lysol and went to work. I ended up deep cleaning the entire house before my sickness got too bad again.

Lesson Learned: ALWAYS look for the positives in a situation and take advantage of them!

Tuesday, April 11th

Today I am thankful for sewing kits and good friends. This probably sounds super weird, but bare with me.

After work both my boyfriend and I had some work to do down in the basement. His cousin and best friend also ended up coming over to help out. I finished painting my new vanity and they began making a projector stand.

Long story short, this project became a lot more work than we had thought. I quickly taught my boyfriend basic sewing. Everyone had their own task.

One of my favorite things in life is to see people come together and work as a team to get something done. That’s exactly what was happening in my basement and it made my heart melt.

We didn’t finish the projector stand yet, but that’s not the point.

Lesson Learned: Life is better with true friends by your side. Friends that will help you out no matter how small or big of a problem. Appreciate those in your life, they are all there for a reason. To have a good friend, you first need to be a good friend.

Wednesday, April 12th

Today I am thankful for alone time. I very rarely have the entire house together so when I finally do, I cherish it.

Being an introvert I gain more energy from alone time. I don’t want to be alone at all times, but once in a while is nice.

Normally my alone time is spent in front of the TV, food by my side, and cuddles with my kitties. Nothing eventful, but still one of my favorite things to do.

Lesson Learned: Enjoy planned activities but never forget to allow yourself to have alone time. If alone time is impossible, then at least set aside time to do nothing productive. Allow your mind to be clear and your body to relax. Life is all about balance.

Thursday, April 13th

Today I am thankful for comfort movies and the ability to cry. Without going into detail, I’m just going to say that today was a VERY rough day. Luckily it ended pretty well.

At about 9:00pm I decided to give up on the day. I had a good cry, got myself some comfort food, and put on my favorite movie. Disney movies or kid movies of any kind are usually the most comforting to me.

Lesson Learned: You WILL have bad days, but it’s just a bad DAY not a bad life. Allow them to happen and do what you need to get through the day. Also sometimes you just need a good cry. All of us tend to hold things in and we are all going through a lot. So just go cry! It seriously helps so much.

Friday, April 14th

Today I am thankful for Tylenol PM. So I don’t know what is going on with me.

If you read Thankful Thursday Week 2 then you know I was sick last Sunday and Monday. My entire body ached, my throat was sore, I was nauseous, and I had the WORST headache.

Tonight the headache came back on only one side of my head? And my neck hurt SO bad again.

I finally had to go lay down in bed, but it was early and I wasn’t very tired. I watched YouTube for a little while, but then the light was making my head hurt more.

The headache was getting worse. I just wanted to go to sleep.

I decided to take a Tylenol PM (I try not to take medicine until I absolutely need to) and I fell asleep not to long after. THANK GOD!

Lesson Learned: Even though I don’t like taking medicine all the time, it is still there available to me when I need it. We complain about the pharmaceutical companies and the medical system in general in the US. Everything here costs WAY more than any other country, for no good reason but to make the companies more money off of SICK people in NEED. But whatever that’s not the point. The point is that some places these things aren’t even accessible and a bad headache is he least of their problems. I complain, rightfully, whenever I get sick, but I still need to be thankful for my good health. And access to medicine when I need it.

Sorry for the rant. That happens sometimes.

Saturday, April 15th

Today I am thankful for zero plans. For the first time in a VERY long time, I didn’t leave the house at all today and it was GREAT. I got a ton of cleaning done, homework finished, and a lot of work on my blog done. I didn’t have any set plans for the day when I woke up so I just went with the flow.

Lesson Learned: Give yourself days once in a while where you have zero plans. Get things done that are otherwise neglected, but also make time to relax and enjoy the day.

Sunday, April 16th

Today I am thankful for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I’ve never mentioned on my blog before, but I am a Christian and I accepted Christ into my life in September 2015. I plan to eventually post my testimony on this website. I’ve also thought of doing posts related to this HUGE part of my life. Let me know if you all would be interested in that!

I hope you all had a Blessed Easter!

Lesson Learned: Being able to spend an entire holiday dedicated to our savior with family and friends is a HUGE blessing. Living in a place with religious freedom is often overlooked and taken for granted.

What were you thankful for this week?

30 Day Gallon Water Challenge Review

30 Day Gallon Water Challenge Review

“Thousands have lived without love, not one without water.” -W.H Auden

Hi everyone! If you didn’t already know I decided to start the 30 Day Gallon Water Challenge on March 17th (if you haven’t seen that post, check it out here!). It has now been 30 days so I am writing my 30 Day Gallon Water Challenge Review! Let’s just get right into it.

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions and ideas are my own.

30 Day Gallon Water Challenge REVIEW

Can I just start by saying I am SO GLAD these 30 days are over. My bladder will be so thankful and I am beyond excited to go back to peeing a normal amount of times. Before this challenge I almost never woke up in the middle of the night to pee. Well that’s impossible to do when you’re drinking a gallon of water a day. I’m pretty sure my coworkers started getting concerned as well.

Don’t get me wrong though, there were also a lot of benefits from this challenge. However, I believe that you could receive these benefits with a normal amount of water every day. I am going to aim for half a gallon of water each day and I think that will be a perfect amount. Not an excessive amount of peeing yet still fully hydrated.

Changes I Noticed

  • Huge increase in amount of times peeing per day

This one was obvious yet still very annoying. I knew I would pee a lot more, but I didn’t know it would be this excessive. Very inconvenient.

  • Better sleep?/More Energy

I can’t necessarily say I got better sleep because I had to get up in the middle of the night at least once a night to pee. However, I did feel much more energized in the morning and throughout the day!

  • Clearer Skin

I was blessed with pretty good skin, but I do have texture bumps on my face, arms, and legs. I also struggle with blackheads. Throughout this challenge I didn’t change my skin care at all, but I definitely noticed an improvement in my skin! The texture bumps were smaller and fewer in number and the blackheads also diminished in number.

  • Decreased appetite

I’ve heard before that many times when you think you’re hungry, you’re actually thirsty. Apparently your body gets the same sort of feeling for both thirst and hunger. That could be a lie, but I remember hearing that. Either way during this challenge I was hungry way less often throughout the day. Diet tip: drink a lot of water.

  • Bloating

This was expected and I was not surprised what so ever. Drinking a gallon of water a day really adds on some water weight, obviously.

Final Thoughts

I highly doubt I will ever do this challenge again. It did teach me how important water is for our bodies and how much it can actually affect. From now on I will be aiming to drink at least a half-gallon of water a day. I think that it a good amount to aim for in order to get less of the bad side effects.

Overall Lesson Learned: Drink lots of water, but not a gallon a day.

Let me know if you tried the 30 Day Gallon Water Challenge and what your thoughts were!

Here is a picture of the schedule I used during this challenge. I had a 24 oz. water bottle.

Dollar Tree Haul and Product Reviews

Dollar Tree Haul and Product Reviews

Dollar Tree Haul and Product Reviews by Dreaming With Love!

Hey everyone! If you’ve been reading my blog for the past month or two then you know I normally (keyword is normally) post Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Well when I planned out the month of April, for some reason I didn’t schedule anything for today, Friday, April 14th.

However I went to my favorite store the other day, I’m sure you can guess by the title that store is Dollar Tree.  So I decided I would do a small Dollar Tree Haul and Product Review rather than not posting anything.

As a new blogger I have been trying to write mainly posts that offer value, advice, tips, etc. to my readers in order to build my audience (it hasn’t been working very well, but that’s not the point). This post will probably have little to no value for most of you. I will write it anyways because I enjoy it. So for those of you here, I hope you enjoy my small Dollar Tree Haul!

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way. All ideas and opinions are my own.

Dollar Tree Haul and Product Reviews

Dollar Tree Haul

Dollar Tree Haul

Spray Bottle

As far as I’m concerned, a spray bottle is a spray bottle. If it does its job (spray water) and doesn’t break right away then it’s a good one!

To be honest I don’t know how much spray bottles are at other stores. Obviously I got this one for $1. It doesn’t feel cheap whatsoever and so far is totally worth the money.

Dollar Tree Haul

Plastic Cups

These are so cute, but are not really reusable. I bought them to make some Easter Dirt Cake Cups and they worked perfectly!

However as I was washing one, it cracked really easily. I plan to be extra careful as I wash the next ones. You get 12 of them for only $1 so I won’t be too upset if they aren’t reusable.

Dollar Tree Haul

Dish Rack

If you don’t have a dishwasher go buy yourself one of these!

I bought a white one a couple of years ago, but our nasty water left residue all over it. Since it was only $1 I decided it was time for a new one.

Without it I have the hardest time drying my silverware and plates. Seriously this is a life changer!

Dollar Tree Haul

Sponges

I have never gotten sponges from the Dollar Tree before because I am always afraid that the quality will suck. So I saw these ones and decided to give them a try.

I LOVE them! Seriously the best sponges I have used. I love that they are twice as thick. The quality is similar to the ones from Walmart, but they are way cheaper.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Dollar Tree Haul

Antacids

We ran out of Tums the other day so I decided to get these and give them a try.

Again I’m not sure if we saved any money buying them from the Dollar Tree. However they do work just as well as Tums!

Dollar Tree Haul

Cat Food

My two kitties eat primarily dry food. Once in a while I get some soft food for a treat and they love it!

As I was in the pet aisle, I saw this food and just had to pick one up for them. It is cheaper at the Dollar Store, but you get the same product!

I’m not sure if this brand is good or not, but please let me know if you do! I’m never 100% sure what I am supposed to be looking at when I buy pet food.

Dollar Tree Haul

Pet Shirt

No I do not have a dog.

Yes I bought this for my cat.

Yes it’s my favorite purchase of the day.

Also pet clothing at any other store is an outrageous price! $1 pet shirts are the way to go!

Dollar Tree Haul

Craft Balls or Cat Toys

Cat toys. My cats go CRAZY for these little craft balls.

As you can see, you get a ton of them so even when they lose them under the fridge and stove, you can just grab another one!

Dollar Tree Haul

Shampoo

My boyfriend ran out of his Axe 3 in 1 Shampoo the other day and has been using my shampoo since. So we decided that he could try this knock off version since it was only $1.00.

That is kind of my thinking with everything at the Dollar Store. “Might as well try it because if it doesn’t work it’s only $1 and if it does work, we saved money.”

So far he hasn’t had any complaints and said he hasn’t noticed a difference between this and Axe (YAY)! If your guy is picky, he might have some complaints, but it is hard to say until you give it a try. Plus this stuff smells GREAT!

Dollar Tree Haul

Hair Brush

I needed a new hair brush so I thought I’d give this one a try. So far I LOVE it. GREAT quality, comparable to my last Conair wet brush, highly recommend!

Dollar Tree Haul

Duck Soap Dispenser

My boyfriend has an obsession with ducks so anytime I see duck items, I have to get them! We needed a soap dispenser in our bathroom anyways so this is perfect and SO cute! I also have the matching toothbrush holder and soap dish (that I use as a spoon holder on the stove).

Dollar Tree Haul

Duck Clips

And NOW I also have duck clips for chip bags! Give me one good reason I shouldn’t have bought these. Exactly there are none.

Dollar Tree Haul

Night Light

This one is a little bit of an inside joke between my boyfriend and I. However it is a cute night-light and it does the job well (lighting up the night).

Let me know your favorite Dollar Tree Products and any Tips you have for shopping there! Also let me know if you try out any of the products from this Dollar Tree Haul!

Thankful Thursday Week 2

Thankful Thursday Week 2

“Be Grateful for Small Things, Big Things, and Everything in Between”

Thankful Thursday Week 2 is here! It was a crazy and busy week. Overall it was really great even though it ended badly…

Check out last week’s Thankful Thursday HERE!

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions and ideas are my own.

Thankful Thursday Week 2

Monday, April 3rd, 2017

Today I am thankful for busy days. “That’s a weird thing to be thankful for, Amanda.” Yes I know, but hear me out. I had a SUPER busy day today and during it, I was not thankful. I wasn’t thankful until after the busy day ended and I was able to sit down and reflect. Now just because I am thankful for busy days does NOT mean I want every day to be that busy. That would be rough. I would cry. A lot. However, having a busy day once in a while is something to be thankful for.

Lesson Learned: Appreciate that you have things going on in your life that gives you busy days. Appreciate that you have the ability to work.

Tuesday, April 4th, 2017

Today I am thankful for freezer bags. Don’t judge me, I have a good reason. Today I finally went grocery shopping (my favorite grocery store is 45 minutes away) so I stocked up on meat. I bought it in bulk (family sizes) in order to save money. However there is only two of us eating all of this meat so I had to separate it and freeze it. This is where the freezer bags come in and they are HUGE life savers. It takes a little extra time, but now I have meat for the entire month and I saved so much money doing it this way!

Lesson Learned: Spending a little extra time to save money is worth it! Buy in bulk whenever possible, but never let food go to waste!

Wednesday, April 5th, 2017

Today I am thankful for lighter fluid. I never thought I would be saying this, but oh well. My boyfriend and I recently got a grill and we were so excited we decided to use it tonight! It was a little chilly, but the food was worth it. We had a few friends over and made a ton of potatoes, venison burgers, pork chops, and brats! Yummy! However I am used to using gas grills not coal. My boyfriend has used a lot of coal grills though, but he only ever started them by soaking the coal in lighter fluid. I didn’t like the idea of this so I looked up some alternative ways. They might have worked if it wasn’t so windy out, but after trying for 30+ minutes I gave up. My boyfriend went to the store and picked up some lighter fluid.

Lesson Learned: Trying new things may not work, but you never know until you try. Plan B is always an option so just go for it.

Thursday, April 6th, 2017

Today I am thankful for “free time”. I put quotes around it because this during this so-called “free time” I had plenty of things I could have been doing. Yesterday after work I chose to treat myself to an hour of relaxing and doing nothing work or chore related before I had a two-hour long online class to attend. I worked a full day plus had an extra 2 hours of my time being dedicated just to a class. So I decided that I deserved some sort of downtime. I had other homework to do, cleaning that needed to be done, and a pile of never-ending blog work. Regardless I knew I needed a little of time to relax.

Lesson Learned: Make time in your busy schedule to take care of yourself first. The dishes can wait, you can miss a day of posting on every social media platform, and you can finish that homework assignment tomorrow (as long as the deadline isn’t tonight). Life will go on and you will get everything done eventually. Don’t burn yourself out in the process.

Friday, April 7th, 2017

Today I am thankful for frozen pizza. Friday night almost never goes as planned and last-minute plans always come up. This Friday my boyfriend and I ended up having a couple of friends over. He ran to the store and picked up a few frozen pizzas. Everyone was happy and it was the easiest supper we could have had.

Lesson Learned: When in good company, nothing else matters. True friends won’t care how much money you spend on food or anything else for that matter.

Saturday, April 8th, 2017

Today I am thankful for swing sets. Today we spent the day at my boyfriend’s sister’s house with part of the family, including my boyfriend’s 3 nieces. I spent the day eating, playing bags, and playing with the girls. We rode scooter and bikes and best of all I pushed them on the swings. They LOVE the swing set and it requires very little effort from me (unlike pushing a 2-year-old around on a bicycle).

Lesson Learned: Something as small as pushing kids on a swing can mean so much to them. A small inconvenience to you, but a huge amount of happiness from the children. When you have kids that look up to you and want to play with you, just do it!

Sunday, April 9th, 2017

Today I am thankful for my rice pack. I’m not sure why, but I woke up so sore and sick this morning. My entire upper half of my body ached, my throat was sore, I had a pounding headache, and I felt super nauseous. This lasted all day long, no exaggeration. I took medicine throughout the day and spent most of it in bed with a heated rice pack on my neck. It didn’t help a ton, but any kind of help was so nice.

Lesson Learned: Enjoy the days when you have good health. Also remember to take some time for yourself once in a while rather than pushing yourself to the max everyday. It is bound to catch up with you.

What were you thankful for this week?

Earth Day Activity Ideas {Plus a Free Printable}

Earth Day Activity Ideas {Plus a Free Printable}

Earth Day used to be one of my favorite days as a kid! In my elementary school one of our Earth Day Activities was to pick up trash. Yes, I know you’re probably wondering why I enjoyed Earth Day when I spent it picking up trash. I really couldn’t tell you exactly why I enjoyed it so much. I’ve always had a love for our Earth and nature in general. I grew up out in the country and my dad is all about being green whenever he can. It’s just the way I grew up I suppose.

Now I know most kids aren’t like me and the thought of spending a day picking up trash at the park doesn’t sound like a real good time. Well that is why I made this list for you all! I have a few other Earth Day Activities that your kids will love! Scroll down to the end for a free printable too! I hope you all enjoy Earth Day no matter how you spend it.

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way. All opinions and ideas are my own.

Earth Day Activities Perfect for Children

  • Crafts

There are so many easy and fun craft ideas for Earth Day. I could honestly do an entire post on just that (maybe I will…). Until then check out my Holiday Board on Pinterest for some awesome ones!

  • Pick Up Trash

I just had to sneak this one in here. Seriously though, take your kids to a beautiful park to pick up trash. Of course let them play at the park a bit too and go get ice cream after or something. It makes for a fun day plus the kids learn a valuable lesson and do something good for the environment! So many positive things come from all of these Earth Day activities.

  • Plant Something

I honestly really love this one out of all the Earth Day activities. The kids have so much fun and you can easily teach them about how plants help the environment. You can do something as simple as a little pot of grass or buy a small tree and work together to plant it in the yard. This activity is as easy or complicated as you want it to be so it can be adjusted to kids of all ages.

  • Read an Earth Day Book

This idea is good for younger kids especially. There are a ton of Earth Day books out there. I recommend checking your local library. Books do such a good job at being entertaining while also educational.

  • Listen to Earth Day Music on Youtube

This is one of the fun Earth Day activities for younger kids. There are a ton of Earth Day songs on Youtube that kids just love! They are fun, interactive, and educational. Just go on youtube and type in “Earth Day songs for kids”. It’s seriously that simple.

  • Nature Scavenger Hunt

I saved the best for last because it’s for all the special people who stuck around to the end of the post! Or for those of you that just scrolled right through I guess, but you’re probably not reading this part anyways. Nature Scavenger Hunts can be so much fun and again they can be tailored to different ages (just make them more or less difficult as needed). Since I love this idea SO much, I just made a free printable for it to give to all of you. Just CLICK HERE.

I hope you all enjoy these Earth Day Activities and let me know if you try any of them! I’d love to hear how they went. Have an awesome Earth Day!

Thankful Thursday: Week 1 {March 27th-April 2nd}

Thankful Thursday: Week 1 {March 27th-April 2nd}

“Never let the things you want, make you forget the things you have.”

Welcome to my new series: Thankful Thursday! If you have not yet seen the introduction to this blog, check it out here! Let’s get right into it, here is my Thankful Thursday Week 1.

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.

Monday, March 27th

Today I am thankful for leftovers. I planned on coming home after work and slaving in the kitchen for hours in order to make my favorite homemade chicken dumpling soup. However, once I got home I was so exhausted and making soup was the last thing I wanted to do. Instead my boyfriend headed to Walmart for us and rented Passengers from Redbox. We ate leftover spaghetti and had a nice night watching a movie together. Sometimes we all have a bad day. On those days put yourself first and realize that your mental health is the most important thing. I postponed my soup making in order to have a relaxing night to rejuvenate myself.

Lesson Learned: ALWAYS make time for yourself and give yourself a break once in a while. We can’t be perfect everyday and sometimes we need to put down all of our responsibilities for a night and just relax.

Tuesday, March 28th

Today I am thankful for family. I only worked for half a day today and then I spent the rest of the day at my parents. I always love going to visit them. I’m able to forget about my responsibilities for a little bit and just relax and catch up with them. It was an absolutely gorgeous day out today! The spring weather is finally upon us, plus the sun was shining so bright. We ended up taking the horses for a short ride, taking the dogs for a walk around the woods, and then my dad took me for a ride on his new toy (some sort of gator/golf cart thing).

Lesson Learned: Never put off visiting family. They are the people who will always be there for you and always have your back. Spending time with them any chance you get is so important!

Wednesday, March 29th

Today I am SO THANKFUL for the ability to cook! Soup is one of my most favorite foods and homemade chicken dumpling is my all time favorite soup. I have made it a couple of times in the past and it always turns out so good! It takes quite a bit of time, but is so worth it. Today I finally made it again and it is currently cooking as I type this. It will be done in about 20 minutes and I can hardly wait!

Lesson Learned: There are people all over the world without access to grocery stores, clean water, and appliances such as stoves and fridges. Living in the U.S. or other developed countries, it is easy to forget that having these things is a privilege and a blessing. We take them for granted on a daily basis because we don’t know life without them, but a lot of people do.

Thursday, March 30th

Today I am thankful for laughter. I had a long day at work and was ready to go home,  lay down on the couch, and not move until bedtime. However, instead my boyfriend’s sister and her two youngest girls (2 years old and 1-year-old) came over for dinner. The 1-year-old hit it off with our kitten instantly and it was so much fun watching them chase each other. We had such a good time having a dance party and laughing at the girl’s dance moves. They are so precious! Us 3 adults have all been going through a lot lately and boy does laughter sure help! We have plans all day Saturday as well (just us adults) and I’m very excited!

Lesson Learned: Life is stressful and hard, but it doesn’t have to be as bad as we make it out to be. Surrounding yourself with friends and family that help brighten your day is a huge help! Don’t be afraid to clear your mind for a while and just laugh!

Friday, March 31st

Today I am thankful for Last Minute Plans. All day at work I didn’t have any plans for when I got home. To be honest I was kind of looking forward to a relaxing night at home. A couple of hours after work my boyfriend’s sister got a hold of us to see what we were doing. Long story short us three and my boyfriend’s cousin all got together for the night. It was still a relaxing night, but we had so much fun! Family truly is everything.

Lesson Learned: Don’t try to plan out every second of your life. Planning is good to a point, but you also need to be flexible and just go with the flow sometimes. Time alone is always important, but sometimes being around others can bring a whole different kind of energy to your life.

Saturday, April 1st

Today I am thankful for the sun. We have had a long winter here in Northwestern Wisconsin and I am so ready for the Spring weather. It has been warming up the past week, but today it was mid 60s and SUNNY! We decided to grill out and enjoy the sun while we could. It got me so excited for summer!

Lesson Learned: Enjoy some fresh air every day you can even if it’s only for a short time. Sunshine and fresh air are so good for your body and soul. After spending the last few months indoors as much as possible (to avoid the cold) a day outside is amazing!

Sunday, April 2nd

Today I am thankful for paint. I have an old vanity someone gave me and some left over paint from when I painted my room. So today I decided to start painting the vanity. I’m not done yet, but it already looks 10 times better and I can’t wait for the finished product!

Lesson Learned: An ugly vanity + some old paint + a little hard work = A pretty cute vanity!

What were you thankful for this week?

If you enjoyed Thankful Thursday Week 1, make sure to check back every Thursday at 2:00pm Central Time!

Easter Egg Hunt Ideas: The Best Items to put in Easter Eggs

Easter Egg Hunt Ideas: The Best Items to put in Easter Eggs

Easter Egg Hunts are one of my favorite activities! As a child my parents put coins in our eggs and my grandparents put candy in them. As I was looking at different Easter Egg Hunt Ideas, I kept seeing everyone put candy and money in the eggs. So I decided to brainstorm a list of the best items to put in Easter Eggs. A lot of these items can be found at the dollar store too. So surprise your kids this Easter with new things in their Easter Eggs without breaking the bank!

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions and ideas are my own.

March 2017 Monthly Recap & April 2017 Monthly Goals

March 2017 Monthly Recap & April 2017 Monthly Goals

March flew by, but I am so glad it did! Not because it was a bad month, it was actually a fantastic month, but it was cold. Obviously it has been cold for the past 6 months, but in March we saw a glimpse of warmth which made the cold that much worse. Other than that I had a very busy and productive month! I am ready for April and so excited for the things I have planned! So now on to my March 2017 Monthly Recap and my April 2017 Monthly Goals!

How did your March go?

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.

March Recap 2017

Make sure to read my March 2017 Goals before reading the recap!

1. Get everything completely unpacked

For those of you who don’t know, I moved in the beginning of March. One of my goals this month was to get everything completely unpacked. I am almost finished and plan on finishing up this weekend! It feels so good to have almost everything unpacked and organized.

2. Start a Budget

I kind of completed this goal. I started using an app called spending tracker and I love it. It has been helping so much and I think it put me on the right path I needed. I plan to sit down and work out a budget very soon. Let me know if you have any tips!

3. Complete 30-Day Challenge and Start a new one

I finished this goal and couldn’t be more proud! I started a 30-Day Fitness Challenge for arms and abs in the beginning of March and recently finished successfully! Also I began the 30-Day Water Gallon Challenge and am still struggling to complete it. There will be a post with a review of the gallon challenge after the 30 days are up. Also I will be starting a new 30-Day Fitness Challenge on Tuesday, April 4th!

Overall Thoughts on March

March turned out to be a better month than I thought it would be. I was finally able to start getting back into a routine and I know it will be even better when I completely finish unpacking and organizing. I was also able to start cooking and baking more after two months without my own kitchen. Oh how I have missed it!

 Dreaming With Love March Recap

March was the 3rd month of Dreaming With Love and I am so proud of how far I have come already. There has been a lot of hard work, setbacks, and daily struggles. However, I have persisted and came out on top every time! My page views and social media numbers grew the most this month than the past two which made me beyond excited. I have been having a hard time not comparing myself to other bloggers. Reminding myself daily to only compete with myself and that any progress is still progress.

April 2017 Monthly Goals

1. Start Crocheting Again

I learned how to crochet last year and love doing it. I’m not very good at it yet (practice makes perfect), but I have created a few items. I haven’t crocheted at all yet this year and I have multiple projects in mind. Normally I will crochet while I watch TV, but lately I have been so busy between work, school, blogging, and unpacking. This month I want to make time for it again!

2. Read (at least 1 book)

I used to read every day and reading is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Since I started college I rarely read anything for enjoyment anymore. This month I really hope to be able to set aside time each day or every other day.

3. Daily Journal

Having a daily journal helped me so much when I was struggling mentally last year. I really want to get back into the habit of daily journaling so I made it a goal this month!

4. Stop Biting Nails

I am so sick of being embarrassed of my short and weak nails. Since I can remember I have had an absolutely terrible habit of biting my nails. I feel too self conscious to wear nail polish because it draws attention to my ugly nails. Enough is enough. I am quitting and April will be the first month!

5. Scholarships

The fall semester will be here before we know it (I know it’s still spring semester but trust me). I want to get a head start and start applying for scholarships now. For April I am hoping to apply to at least 5 scholarships. I also want to find a bunch with deadlines later in the summer and have a list made. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

6. 30 Day Fitness Challenge

If you don’t already know, I did a 30-Day Fitness Challenge for arms and abs in March! I want to try to do a new challenge every month. My April one will be starting on Tuesday, April 4th!

7. Make a Gardening Plan

I have decided that I want to do a little gardening this year. I am finally in a house of my own with a back yard rather than an apartment! Now I don’t want a huge garden, but I would like to try to grow a few low maintenance vegetables. I have zero experience except when my parents used to force me to pick weeds. So I want to do some research and make a plan for this summer. I would love to hear any tips and suggestions you have!

What are some of your April 2017 Monthly Goals??

Thankful Thursday Series Introduction

Thankful Thursday Series Introduction

I’m so excited to introduce a new series here on Dreaming With Love! The series is called Thankful Thursday and it is exactly what it sounds like! I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing them.

Thankful Thursday Series

Why am I making this series?

I find that on days where I am in a more positive mood, the day goes much smoother. Having a positive outlook on life really does help with happiness. Along with having a positive outlook, we also need to be grateful for every little good thing in our lives. I want to focus on what I’m thankful for rather than what I wish I had. Writing things down make them so much more real to me. Plus I want you guys to hold me accountable to doing this! Thankful Thursday is now a thing and I couldn’t be more excited!

What can you expect?

  • A Thankful Thursday post every week on Thursdays (hence the name Thankful Thursday) at 2:00pm Central time
  • The posts will contain a short paragraph for each day of the previous week. The paragraphs will be about what I was thankful for that day.
  • Each Thankful Thursday post will also have a lesson learned each day
  • My wish is that you all are inspired to be more grateful for all of the things you are blessed with. Focusing on these things rather than the bad will make life much more enjoyable.
  • I will also be tweeting each Thursday about an overall thing I was thankful for during the previous week. Follow me on Twitter and turn the notifications on so you never miss one!

I already started the Thankful Thursday for Monday, March 27th – Sunday, April 2nd. That post will go live next Thursday (April 6th) at 2:00pm Central Time!

If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know!

March 2017 Monthly Favorites

March 2017 Monthly Favorites

Time for my March 2017 Monthly Favorites! How in the world is it almost April already??  I seriously can’t even believe it, but I am SO ready for Spring and Summer! I made my Spring Wish List awhile back and just recently made my summer bucket list! Living in Wisconsin, I have been over winter since the day it started. Don’t get me wrong, I love the beauty of winter and snow, but the cold can leave now. Plus I hate the transition period from winter to spring because EVERYTHING is muddy and wet. Yuck!

It’s okay though! March was a great month! I moved (almost done unpacking) and am finally feeling like I’m getting back into a good routine. Here’s to hoping April will be a good month! Make sure to start it off right with some AWESOME APRIL FOOLS PRANK IDEAS! I am SO excited for April Fools this year!

Sorry about the long intro, but NOW lets continue with my March 2017 Monthly Favorites!

My favorites don’t always change every month, but I will keep you updated on which ones do! Some months there will be different categories than other months. Here are my March 2017 Monthly Favorites of makeup, entertainment, food, quotes, and other random things.

Check out my February Monthly Favorites as well!

March 2017 Monthly Favorites

YOUTUBERS

I’ve been watching A LOT of youtube lately because I realized how much creativity and inspiration it gives me. Something about watching youtube videos makes my creative side start going crazy and I love it! My favorite people who I’ve been watching this month are:

If you have been reading my monthly favorites for a while then you know that I have been loving Hayley Paige for such a long time. She is a new mom and also has a ton of recipes and fashion videos. She also has a blog that I LOVE!

I discovered LaurDIY through MissRemiAshten and I have been loving her videos! As you can tell by her name, she has a ton of super awesome DIY videos. She also has a lot of life hacks and they are all super useful. Plus she has such an amazing personality!

LoveMeg is a mom of two, a SAHM with a firefighter husband, and such a genuine person! She has a ton of cleaning and organization videos, which I LOVE. Her videos are helpful and inspiring and I have been loving watching them.

I know, I know. I am so late with this one, but I recently started watching TheGabbieShow videos and I’m obsessed. She is so real in all of her videos and is hilarious!

APPS

  • Balloon Tower Defense Battles

A HUGE throwback to my childhood! I used to play the normal Bloon Tower Defense games on the computer all the time. I found the battle version on the app store and have been playing it way too much. Haha

  • AllRecipies

If you enjoy cooking or you just want ideas for meals then I highly recommend this app. It is like a pinterest just for recipes. You can save recipes to different boards to look back on later. It is so useful and I find myself on it all the time getting ideas for new meals.

  • Spending Tracker

I have a really hard time keeping a budget, but I’m getting better at it! This app is a life saver and is perfect for someone like me who struggles to stick to a budget. The app is super simple and you just add your income and expenses as they come. You can set up expenses at a future date and the app shows your current balance along with a breakdown of each category!

FOOD

  • Breakfast Foods

I have honestly just been loving breakfast foods. Waffles, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, toast, and everything breakfast related. I’m not sure why, but I decided to make a post with my 3 favorite super quick, easy, AND healthy breakfast ideas!

  • Smoothies

I LOVE SMOOTHIES! enough said.

  • Soup

Soup is probably my favorite food. This month I made homemade chili, homemade potato soup, and homemade chicken dumpling. I love them all so much! I don’t make a lot of soups during the summer because that’s kind of weird in the hot months. So I decided to make them now while I have a good chance still.

So dramatic.

QUOTES

I have been reading and loving so many quotes this month! I have been feeling a little discouraged in life and quotes help me get refocused on my dreams and goals. I’d love to hear what your favorite quotes are!

  • “All our dreams will come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”  – Walt Disney

Disney quotes are incredible and so encouraging! I made a post of my 10 favorite motivational Disney quotes! I love reading them when I am feeling defeated.

  • “One day she discovered that she was fierce, and strong, and full of fire, and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears.”

I LOVE this quote SO MUCH! For all of the women reading, you are amazing (men you are amazing too, but I’m talking to the women right now). So women, you are amazing and powerful and are more than capable of following your dreams and succeeding beyond your expectations! If you want more inspiration, check out my Quotes for Queens!

  • “The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do.”

You can’t have goals and dreams and then barely do anything to reach them. It will take a lot of hard work, but it will be worth it! I have similar quotes on my Fitspirational post and they are especially perfect for those of you needing inspiration for a healthier life!

  • “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

I read this quote the other day and I LOVE IT! Doing things outside of your comfort zone can be awkward and intimidating, but I promise that it will be totally worth it in the end! It will help you grow as a person and open your mind to new things!

CANDLE SCENTS

I know this is kind of a weird category to have, but I finally got my candles out of storage (and bought some new ones) after 2 months. I LOVE having candles all over the house so this month I have been going crazy with them. So I decided to add it as a category on my monthly favorites. Judge Me. I don’t care <3

  • Sweet Pea

This is one of my all time favorite smell and it’s PERFECT for Spring!

  • Fresh Linen

Yes I know this is weird. Clean laundry, fresh linen, you can’t tell me they don’t smell super good!

MAKEUP

  • Tarte Maracuja Oil

I love this so much I made an entire post about it. It’s so worth checking out, so CLICK HERE quick!

TV SHOWS

  • Grey’s Anatomy

One of my favorite shows ever. Don’t recommend watching… SPOILER:

everyone dies.

  • Supernatural

Such a good show! My boyfriend and I started watching it and we are obsessed! He keeps watching it without me though…

  • The Voice

Loving this season so far! Happy Gwen is back, but I loved Miley too.

I hope you enjoyed my March 2017 Monthly Favorites! Let me know what things you have been loving in the month of March as well!

2017 Summer Bucket List

2017 Summer Bucket List

I know that it just officially became Spring, but I am so ready for summer! I have so many amazing things planned for this summer and I can’t wait to make Summer 2017 the best one yet! I’m not taking any classes this summer so I plan on spending a lot more time on my blog. I will still be working a full-time job, but I will make it work like always. I also plan on taking more time for filming and editing because that is truly my main passion.

Along with working, blogging, and filming, I also have a ton of other activities that I want to do. Since I couldn’t stop thinking about them I decided to create my 2017 Summer Bucket List! It is possible that this list will be added to as it gets closer to summer. I will also keep you updated whenever I complete something off of my list! Let me know if you have any other suggestions for fun summer activities!

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.

2017 Summer Bucket List

  • See a movie at the drive in theater

I used to go to the drive in quite often and I love it so much. It’s an entirely different experience than going to the actual movie theater. Bring some lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks!

  • Have a picnic in the park

  • Go star-gazing

  • Get a tan tattoo

This has been on my summer bucket list for a long time and this will be the year I finally do it! I’m not exactly sure what I want yet, but it will happen. I don’t generally tan a lot in the sun (because I burn super easy), but I plan to spend a lot of time outside.

  • Take a road trip

No idea where I want to road trip to, but I try to do a little one at least once a summer. Going to see something new in nature is my favorite and its super inexpensive! I will probably drive somewhere with some friends and go hiking (and of course take lots of pictures).

  • Take a weekend camping trip

I LOVE camping and most summers I go multiple times. However, this year I want to go somewhere at least a few hours away and spend the whole weekend there. I’ve done this in the past and it’s always a great time!

  • Visit the zoo

There are three pretty nice zoos in the area where I live and I want to go to all 3 this summer. Two of them are free admission which makes it even better. I love going to the zoo because I am a HUGE animal lover and I can always get some really nice pictures there!

  • Go to Valleyfair

Valleyfair is similar to six flags, but is way closer to me. I used to go to Valleyfair at least once a summer, but I haven’t the past couple of years. It is one of my favorite places to go and I’m making sure I can get there this summer!

  • Create a summer playlist

I want to start creating playlists for different things in my life (different moods, different activities, different time of the day/year, etc.) and my summer 2017 playlist will be one of them! I’ll let you know whenever I make new playlists.

  • Feed the ducks

I didn’t really need to put this on my bucket list because I will definitely do this multiple times throughout the summer. It’s so fun watching the ducks and enjoying the outdoors. Plus the ducks love it!

Side note: I read the other day that feeding bread to ducks is actually very bad for them. Apparently they like bird seed? I will have to do a little more research on that so I don’t hurt any more duckies.

  • Catch a fish

I don’t enjoy fishing that much and normally when I go I end up just laying in the sun because I get too impatient. It has been awhile since I have a caught a fish so this summer I’d really like to catch a bunch. Also I want to learn how to cook fish better so this is the perfect way to do that too!

  • Go to the trampoline park

A city about an hour away from me just got a trampoline park so I obviously have to go. I might do this before summer, but either way it will happen!

  • Go to Action City

Action City is a fun place with go-carts, rock climbing, bumper cars, laser tag, mini golf, and more. It’s such a fun place and I haven’t been there in a long time.

  • Go rollerblading

Rollerblading is one of my favorite things to do, but I haven’t had a pair of roller blades in way too long. This summer I am definitely getting a pair and using them all the time!

  • Wake up for the sunrise

  • Go Hiking in the Blue Hills

I’ve never hiked the Blue Hills, but I have heard of all the trails and beautiful things to see. Some of the places are 5+ miles deep in the woods, but there are other things closer as well. This summer I would love to go explore (with a map of course) multiple times! I want to take a ton of pictures out there and just enjoy the nature with family and friends. Seriously so excited for this!

  • Start a small garden

Growing up my parents always had a huge garden during the summer and I loved having access to all the fresh veggies! I have a very small yard and very little experience so my garden won’t be anything special this summer. However, I want to start growing a few things so I can get better at it and one day have a huge garden. Let me know if you have any tips!

  • Make homemade bread

I have been wanting to do this literally forever (okay not literally, but it feels like it) and to hold myself to it, I had to put it on a list. Again this might happen before summer, but either way it will be accomplished before the end of summer 2017.

  • Do a 7 Day Detox

Detox are so good for you and your body and I’ve always wanted to do one. I hope to eventually do one every few months to flush out my body. Let me know if you have any recommendations as to what detox to do!

Moving Hacks: First Night Checklist {Plus a Free Printable}

Moving Hacks: First Night Checklist {Plus a Free Printable}

I am so excited to start this new series on my blog, Moving Hacks. I lived in the same house up until I left for college at 17. Last week I moved for my fourth time within the last 2.5 years. Each time I have moved, I got way more efficient and learned new hacks along the way! The first post in my Moving Hacks series, as you can tell by the title, is a First Night Checklist!

Moving can be a very difficult and stressful thing. Any little thing that you can do to help make things go smoother is totally worth it. After moving multiple times I have come up with a first night checklist. It includes anything you could possibly need during the first day/night in your new place. It has helped me stress a little less and has allowed me to focus my energy into other things that need to be done.

I have created a free printable for you to use that I absolutely love!

It includes:

  • Bedroom Needs

  • Bathroom Needs

  • Kitchen Needs

  • Cleaning Needs

  • Pet Needs

  • And some other great stuff!

I have a pretty good routine for the first night of moving in.

  1.  Inspect EVERYTHING and take pictures. Make any notes necessary. Take your time and do this thoroughly. You never know if you’ll need it.

  2. Wipe down EVERYTHING and DEEP CLEAN the whole place! Counter tops, stove, fridge, shower, bathroom, walls, and floors. Take the time to do this, you’ll thank yourself.

  3. Move everything in!

  4. Sort things into their correct rooms.

  5. Start unpacking. I like to do the necessities first and then complete one room at a time.

If you would like my free printable of the first night checklist click here!

Also I would love to hear any moving hacks that you have and tips for the first night in your new place!
