A Look into My Life: Radio Show

A Look into My Life: Radio Show

Today is the day I start my radio show.

I NEVER even imagined that I would ever be on the radio let alone have my own show.

That is until last summer when I made it a goal of mine.

My Radio Show

I started working at this radio station last summer as an intern. Majoring in communications, I thought experience in radio would be PERFECT. I had an incredible summer and learned so much. The job had (and still has) a lot of surprises, but it keeps me on my toes and keeps things exciting.

Towards the end of the summer, I told myself that I WOULD have my radio show at some point in life. Even if it was for a short period of time, I knew that I wanted to have one and that I eventually would.

And I was lucky enough to get the opportunity much sooner than I thought I would.

After the summer, I went back to Madison where I was attending college. That fall semester I went through a lot of struggles and made the decision to transfer to ASU Online (if you’d like to know why I’ll be writing a post on it very soon). Going to online school allowed me to move back closer to my parents until I finish school. So I decided to get in contact with the owner of the radio station and see if there was a position available.

Originally he wanted me to do full-time sales… I’m majoring in film and media studies and have ZERO desire to do any type of sales EVER. In addition to that, there was no way I was going to work full-time while attending school full-time (huge props to those who do it but it’s unnecessary for me).

So I turned down the position and began looking for a different job.

A couple of days later the owner of the radio station got in touch with me again and offered me a flex position as the administrative assistant. I was hesitant, but I accepted and am glad I did.

Fast forward a few months

The sales manager/morning show host moved on to another job. We recently hired a new sales manager, but the morning show still hadn’t been filled. This isn’t a huge issue, but our listeners miss having a morning show.

That’s where I come in.

My Radio Show - Me in the studio

Starting TODAY I have my own radio show on WJBL 93.1 The Dice.

My radio show is every Monday through Friday from ten to noon central time! If you’re interested in listening, you can tune us in at or find us on the Mixlr App!

I can’t begin to explain the rush of emotions I’ve felt since finding this out in the middle of July.

First I was excited.

Next, my nerves kicked in full blast (but I’m a master at not showing how nervous I am).

In order to better prepare me, one of the things I did is fill in for other people on their 2-hour shows. I started by doing afternoon swap which is 15 minutes long but involves answering the phone live-on-air. Next, I did 2-Hour-Energy by myself and had a BLAST. This is where my nerves went away a ton and they diminished more and more with each show I did. Last week I even did the Wake Up Show and Morning News Hour. It was more intense, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

I have been working hard to prepare and am very excited to begin my radio show.

The Dice 93.1

If you are to ever listen I would LOVE any and all feedback! Leave a comment below, Tweet Me, or Send me an email!

First Apartment Checklist & Essentials

First Apartment Checklist & Essentials

You’re moving out for the first time?!?! How EXCITING!

Whether you’re moving away for college, work, travel, or any number of reasons, this is a huge next step in your life. When I moved out of my parent’s house and into my first apartment, I felt confident and excited. I soon realized that there was a lot of things I was completely clueless about and A LOT of things I needed to go out and buy because I completely spaced that I needed it. *Face Palm* This led to the creation of my ‘first apartment checklist’ so you can all learn from my mistakes. (I’m sure you’ll have plenty other mistakes to make on your own)

I’ve broken down the first apartment checklist into 6 categories of essentials. Having been moved out for 3 years now, I have learned that these are the things I absolutely need to have.  You may need to add more things and even take a few things off of the list. Either way I hope this first apartment checklist is beneficial to you and helps you stress a little less about moving!

I’d love to hear what your apartment essentials are!

Also you might notice throughout the list that I linked some items to my favorites. I absolutely LOVE Ikea for things like this, but this post is not sponsored in any way.

First Apartment Checklist

Moving out tips and first apartment checklist of essentials

The kitchen is where you need the most things, especially if you plan on eating more than mac and cheese, pizzas, and ramen. Trust me, it gets old FAST. Depending on what you cook will determine your kitchen essentials. Over the past three years of living on my own, I have found that these are the things that I need in my kitchen!

  • Silverware
  • Dishes
  • Pots/Pans
  • Cooking Utensils (spatula, soup ladle, wooden spoon, tongs, noodle spoon, pizza cutter, can opener)
  • Cutting Board
  • Measuring Cups
  • Strainer
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Parchment Paper
  • Saran Wrap
  • Blender
  • Coffee Maker
  • Toaster
  • Microwave
  • Dish Soap
  • Drying Rack
  • Table and Chairs
  • Tupperware
  • Ice Trays
  • Oven Mitt
  • Paper Towels/Napkins
  • Ziploc Bags

Many bathroom essentials are common sense, but it can be easy to forget some things too. For example, you don’t want to wait to buy a plunger until you need one, at that point you will need it NOW. These things are absolutely essential to any bathroom. However, ask your landlord if you will need to bring your own shower curtain and rings or if there will already be one there.

  • Toilet Paper
  • Towels
  • Bath Mat
  • Shower Curtain and Rings
  • Toilet Brush
  • Plunger
  • First Aid Kit
  • Band-aids
  • Triple Antibiotic
  • Tylenol/Advil
  • Cough Medicine
  • Hand Soap

The bedroom essentials are the most straight forward. If you are trying to get the bare minimum then technically you just need a mattress, pillows, and bedding. However, I find that the rest of the items on the list are used on a daily basis.

Living Room

The living room can be broken down into 3 essential categories: Seating, Entertainment, and Lighting. Obviously seating can be a couch and/or chair. Entertainment involves a tv and possible game consoles. Last but certainly not least is lighting. This may not seem important but the last apartment I lived in and the current house I live in do not have any lights in the living room. Bring at least one lamp either way, just to be safe.

moving out tips and first apartment checklist of essentials. Cleaning products you need

Two of these items may be questionable “essentials” but I will tell you why you need them.

First item is rubber gloves. I used to clean without them, but they are the BEST dollar (yes just one dollar) I’ve EVER spent. I don’t have to worry at all about getting gross stuff on my hands.

Next is the magic erasers. I just recently used a magic eraser for the first time (my friend dyed her hair blue and rinsed it out in my tub causing my tub to be stained blue) after my mom recommended it to me. OMG! Where have these been my whole life?!?! If you have any kind of stains or small areas (in between tiles, stove/oven, literally everywhere) then you need to get yourself some magic erasers. You can thank me later.

  • Trash Bags
  • Trash Cans
  • Broom and Dustpan
  • Mop and Bucket
  • Vacuum
  • Rubber Gloves
  • Sponges
  • Cleaning Products (multi surface, windex, toilet cleaner, laundry detergent)
  • Magic Erasers
  • Rags

Some random things that I have found myself needing often. Good things to keep in your house at all times.

  • Batteries (AA + AAA)
  • Flashlight
  • Screw Driver
  • Hammer
  • Light Bulbs
  • Extension Cord/Surge Protector

Moving can be stressful and it can be so easy to forget things. Especially if this is the first time you are moving out on your own. Good luck to you!

I’d love to hear what some of your apartment essentials are and why!!

August Monthly Goals & July Recap {2017}

August Monthly Goals & July Recap {2017}

July was my first month back after taking a month off from blogging and WOW DID I LEARN A LOT!

I didn’t achieve any of my July monthly goals but I learned so much about myself and the things I need to do to succeed! ( And I am SO ready to crush my August monthly goals) Normally I am pretty disappointed when I don’t reach my goals but what I did instead this month was so much more important.

I slowly got myself back into the blogging world while simultaneously getting my personal life back under control. Honestly, I haven’t felt this organized in a long time and it is an INCREDIBLE feeling!

August is here and I am ready to crush my goals!

One thing I kept in mind while setting my August monthly goals is that I can’t do it all. I have a problem of wanting every aspect of my life to be perfect… then when it isn’t I feel defeated. So for August I am focusing on a few areas and will add more areas in September. After feeling overwhelmed for months, I knew this was the change in mindset I needed. Wish me luck!

Also, I would honestly LOVE to hear what your August monthly goals are or tell me about how July went for you! <3

August monthly goals inspiration

August Monthly Goals ~ Life

  • Complete Daily Habits

I started tracking my daily habits in July, but didn’t stick to it very well. So far August has been going well for me with this so I hope I can continue it. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, I plan on doing a post on it very soon!

  • Stick to monthly budget

The last few months I have been paying a lot more attention to my finances. So one of my August monthly goals is to actually stick to a budget. Fingers crossed!

  • Drink More Water

I went out and bought myself a cute water bottle from the dollar tree (Treat Yo’ Self!) and I am ready to drink water all day long!

  • Clean Daily

Cleaning is on my daily habits list, but I really want to focus on getting a good cleaning routine. In the month of August this will be one of my priorities. I know I won’t clean, but I hope to do at least one task most days. And I think this is very attainable!

August Monthly Goals ~ Blogging

  • Finish Redesigning Website

You guys know I have been ‘redesigning’ my website literally forever. It took me forever to decide on the perfect theme and then I had technical difficulties for dayzzz (literally though). Luckily customer support was AMAZING.

Basically it just took me a long time to figure out what I want and now I know! It’ll probably change again soon, but whatever. I am SO excited for the changes to come and I would LOVE to hear feedback on anything and everything!!

  • Start Newsletter

One of my main objectives this month is to grow my email list. My first newsletter is almost complete and I am very happy with it and excited to send it out! So get ready and get signed up for my newsletter!! Whoo Hoo!

  • Plan 1st Email Freebie

I have multiple email freebie ideas already and couldn’t be more excited ( a lot of excitement this month). I’ve started planning and designing the first freebie so my goal is to have it finished by the end of August! I’m not sure when I will make it available, but I want it finished so I can begin working on the next one. (:

August is going to be a GREAT month whether I achieve all of my August monthly goals or not. I’m starting classes again, have HUGE plans for Dreaming With Love, and it’s the last month of SUMMER. Here’s to a WONDERFUL month full of productivity, positivity, and most importantly; HAPPINESS <3

If you want to follow along with how my month is going and updates on my August monthly goals then follow me on Twitter!!

That is all for now. I’ll talk to you soon

Manda Monday: July 2017 Monthly Goals

Manda Monday: July 2017 Monthly Goals

As I write this post, it is July 9th at 8:35PM, so I’m a little late… but oh well. July has already been a crazy busy month and there are so many July Monthly Goals I want to accomplish. I’ve been doing good so far and have been having a very positive month. Fingers crossed the positive vibes continue!!

For those of you who have been here before (here as in Dreaming With Love) or those of you who follow me on social media, you know Where I Have Been. If you don’t know, and would like to, check out this post here.

Always be a Goal Digger {Dreaming With Love July Monthly Goals}

  • Redesign Dreaming With Love Website

Some of you know that I have already started this process, but it is taking me longer than I had hoped. I still have a lot left that I want to do, I just have to do it. So keep your eyes open for some beautiful changes on Dreaming With Love <3

  • Start Newsletter

I have been saying that I want to start my newsletter forever, but it seriously needs to happen already. The sign-up will be up by the end of the month!

  • Plan an Email Freebie

I want to have a ton of email freebies for those of you who sign up for my newsletter. However, I have to start my newsletter first… But this month I want to at least plan my first email freebie so that I can design it next month!

  • Post Every Monday and Saturday

Especially every Saturday, but I won’t be too disappointed if I miss a Monday. Saturdays are for my less personal and more helpful posts. I’m lacking in numbers on those posts and they are the ones that attract new readers so I need to make them my priority this month.

I have been getting the best feedback from Twitter and Pinterest this month so I want to make them my priority. Next month I will be bringing back my instagram as well! I really enjoy connecting with others on Twitter, so if you haven’t already, go follow me on Twitter and Pinterest!!

  • Complete Daily Habits

I’ve started a checklist to keep track of some daily habits I want to start. I’ve heard it works well and I am excited to give it a try. I will let you all know how it goes!

  • Workout 3 times per week

This is going to be tough for me because I find excuses all the time… But I really want to try it! I’d be happy to lose a few pounds, but I mainly just want to tone up and be healthier.

Indie Boy {Dreaming With Love July Monthly Goals}

  • Walk Indie Everyday

So we kind of have a dog at the moment… and his name is Indie. I made it a goal to take him for a walk everyday, at least once. He needs to burn the energy, its healthy for me, and it gets us both outside.

  • Read 30 Minutes 2 times per week

I love reading but I never make time to do it. I’d love to get back to reading every day, but that’s just not realistic right now. But I think can do 2 times a week!

  • Cook Dinner 4 times per week

I don’t really enjoy cooking, but if I don’t cook I end up eating unhealthy foods. I am going to try really hard to cook supper at least 4 times each week.

  • New Recipe once a week

Since I moved out of my parents, I have learned to cook a lot of different things. However, I still feel as if I’m making the same things over and over. I need more variety and I love discovering new recipes that are easy to make and delicious to eat! If you have any suggestions please let me know!

  • Pamper Night once a week

Self care is such an important thing to do yet it falls low on my list of priorities all too often. I want to make time once a week for about an hour to take a bath, do a facial, body scrub, deep condition my hair, or just to relax with a book. If I don’t schedule out time for it then I won’t ever get to it.

  • Complete 2 Deep Cleaning Tasks per week

I have started a deep cleaning log where I track what things in my house need to be deep cleaned and when they last were. My goal is to complete at least two tasks off of my deep cleaning log every week. They range from small to big projects so it should be easily done. Plus I love completing something off a list and I love having a clean home. (:

Check back in the end of July/beginning of August for my July Monthly Goals Recap along with my monthly goals for August! Also let me know what some of your July monthly goals are!!

Never Give Up and Always Work Hard

Where Have I Been? {Life Update and Refocusing}

Where Have I Been? {Life Update and Refocusing}

Hello my sweet little pumpkins <3

I know, I know. I’ve been gone for WAY too long. Let me explain.

If you follow me on social media then you have an idea of where I have been (also thank you SO much for your support). If you don’t follow me on social media, what are you doing with your life? Go follow me. I’ll wait <3

Now I have a question for all of you…

Have you ever felt so overwhelmed by life that you just can’t do it anymore?

I’m sure you have, but you probably handled it much better than myself. Lately my anxiety has been out of control and I have been feeling overwhelmed so frequently. My first instinct is to just drop everything and focus on something else entirely. This might be okay if I didn’t feel this way multiple times a day.

But anyways, this overwhelming feeling hit me so hard because I was putting way too much pressure on myself and Dreaming With Love. It was unhealthy and out of control. I felt I had no other option, but to take a step back and reflect.

&& I am SO happy I did.

Along with the overwhelm, the universe literally made it so clear to me that I needed a break. First my website expired and I planned on renewing it when I got home from work. However, when I made it home I found out that our new puppy decided to chew up my laptop charger. (WHY ARE MACBOOK CHARGERS $80?!) It was just so clear to me that I needed to take some time off, re-focus, reflect, and pay more attention to my self-care, so I did.

  • The Purpose of Dreaming With Love

One of things I wanted to focus on during this month was my exact purpose and future goals for Dreaming With Love. I narrowed down the topics I want to focus on and feel so much more confident now.

In the beginning I knew I wanted a blog and I wanted to help people with it. Now I know exactly what I want to help people with and how I am going to do it. I talk more about this at the end of this post (:

  • Being Genuine is SO Important

This isn’t a new idea to me. I’ve heard it over and over in the blogging community, but for some reason this time help has helped me understand it better. Some of the topics I want to write on eventually, I currently have little knowledge about. I want to live the tips and tricks I give to you all. So from now on the posts I publish will be a reflection of my own life. I want to incorporate everything into my life (or at least try to) before I publish the post to all of you.

Keeping it real and being 100% myself is now (and always should have been) my top priority for Dreaming With Love.

  • I’m not perfect and I NEVER will be, but that’s okay.

This stems off of the idea of being genuine. It’s so easy to try to paint this picture of the perfect life, but it’s not real and it’s not as helpful.

I also realized that I put way too much pressure on myself to be on every social media platform everyday, follow my posting schedule, get the perfect pictures, etc. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to have everything perfect so when I failed, I would get so down on myself. This just made it harder to keep going.

I’m learning that I will never be perfect, I will make mistakes all the time, and it will still all be okay. <3

My plan from here on out is to really live by the rule of “Quality over Quantity”. I’ve heard this over and over, but for some reason it’s importance never clicked with me until recently. When I first started blogging, I had a lot of blog posts written, but they were mostly crap. I knew that I wanted to post a lot so I wouldn’t take enough time on each post. In reality I had bad or no pictures, short posts, unoriginal ideas, and the writing was not showing my personality.

ALL of that is going to change!

I am going to (and have already started to) write long, informative, and fun posts with exciting and beautiful pictures. I am going to write about things that I truly care about, enjoy, or want to learn more about. Dreaming With Love will be 100% real (not that it was ever fake though).

I want to post 2 to 3 times a week, but if I don’t then I don’t. I cannot put that pressure on myself again because it takes away the fun and passion of blogging. One of my posts each week will be part of a new series:

On Manda Mondays I will have more personal posts for my readers that not only want to be educated, but also want to get to know me. I will have monthly favorites, goals, updates, posts about my pets, beauty, fashion, and anything else my little heart desires. (:

Another post will be on Saturday at 5pm central and will be more of a helpful post (but still a lot of fun). This will be a post that falls more under the purpose of Dreaming With Love which is

to help people live their lives to the fullest every single day. To inspire others to follow their dreams and never settle for anything less. Lastly to teach others the joy of living a purposeful life.

These posts will fall under the categories of living a positive life, a frugal life, and a healthy life.

A HUGE thank you to everyone that continued to support me while I kinda disappeared for a while. This community is amazing and I couldn’t continue on without each and every one of you <3 I am so excited for the future of Dreaming With Love and I’d love to have you all along for the ride! Talk to you soon

April 2017 Monthly Recap && May 2017 Monthly Goals

April 2017 Monthly Recap && May 2017 Monthly Goals

April was a rough month for me, to say the least. So I am hoping that my May 2017 Monthly Goals will be helpful and reachable.

I struggle with anxiety and depression and this month it showed up a lot more than normal. It usually isn’t very severe and is quite manageable, but it still sucks and is no fun. On top of that I have been dealing with a nasty cold that just won’t go away. Needless to say my energy was low this month. However life still goes on and I had such a busy and CRAZY month.

I finished up my 3rd year of college this month (yay!). Work was extra busy because we had our Spring radio auction. I reached a pretty big milestone on Dreaming With Love! Overall my life has been a chaotic mess this month. I am choosing to forget about the disappointments and all of the unmet goals and try again this month.

I am sick of the excuses I continue to create for myself. Sick of putting things off because “the time isn’t right”. This month all of that changes. I’m ready to get my life together. There will be some huge changes on Dreaming With Love and in my life in general. Hopefully when I come back here next month to tell you about May, I’ll have some great news to share! NOW let’s get into my April 2017 recap and my May 2017 monthly goals!

But first… How did your April go?

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.

April Recap 2017

Make sure to read my April 2017 Goals before reading the recap!

I’m not going to lie cause that would defeat the purpose of my monthly recap and goals. I didn’t complete any of my goals this month. Like I said I had a very busy month and still had many accomplishments, but none of which were goals I set for myself.

My depression really took over this month so whenever I had free time from work and school, I didn’t do much. I am going to put all of my April goals onto my May 2017 monthly goals. Sometimes we have bad days, weeks, and months. We just have to remember that it is NOT a bad life and it will pass. Push through, take care of yourself, and try not to worry too much.

Here’s to a GREAT month of May!

 Dreaming With Love Recap

Any progress is progress and I am so proud of the progress I have made on Dreaming With Love! April was the 4th month of my blog and I FINALLY hit a total of 1,000 page views! I know this isn’t a huge accomplishment in 4 months, but I’m still really proud. My numbers grew in most areas this month, including my social media accounts, so that makes me VERY happy! Thank you all SOOOOOO much for supporting me in this crazy journey <3

May is going to be a VERY exciting month for Dreaming With Love! I am doing a HUGE rebranding on my website and all my social media platforms. Finally I feel like I figured out what I want, for now at least. I would love to hear any input you have on my current and new design (coming soon)! But give me a break because I don’t like the current design either, haha. By the time you’re reading this I (hopefully) have done a lot of changing already.

May 2017 Monthly Goals

A lot of these goals will be the same as April’s goals, but there are a few new ones as well. Also if you want help creating achievable goals, I wrote a post with some of my best tips!

1. Start Newsletter

It’s finally going to happen. I did my research and chose the platform I am going to use. I hope to get at least 5 people signed up during May so keep your eye out for a sign up form!

In the beginning I won’t send out very many, maybe 2 a month? But I know I want to include exclusive content, access to free resources, updates, and an overview of what is going on with Dreaming With Love.

2. Finish (at least) 1 Crochet Project

I haven’t decided what I want to crochet yet, but it will be something small because I’m not very good yet. I think I want to make something for mother’s day. Also if possible I would like to do a few more projects this month. Follow me on Instagram to see pictures of the finished projects!

3. Read (at least) 1 book

I want to try to get back in the habit of reading a little bit every day or every other day. This month I want to finish one book and to ease myself back into reading I decided to pick an easier and shorter book than normal. I am going to read Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I’ve had this book for a long time, but have never read it. I’m very excited to get back into reading.

4. Daily Journal

Daily journaling is SO freeing and helpful for me. I haven’t done it in months and I don’t know why. I used to do it first thing in the morning for about 30 minutes while I drank my coffee. It’s something that helped me cope with the ideas and thoughts going on in my mind and I really miss it. If you struggle with any mental health problems I think it is especially helpful for that!

I plan on getting back into a morning routine this month so hopefully I am able to stick to it!

5. Stop Biting Nails

I haven’t done so in about a week which is a huge accomplishment for me! If you read my April Favorites then you know I have been using Nail Envy Nail Strengthener from OPI and it has been a game changer. This polish strengthens my nails while also being a reminder throughout the day to NOT bite my nails.

This has been testing my will power, but I really want to stick to it! I hate being so embarrassed of my gross nails. I will post a before and after picture eventually, but for now they are still too gross. Haha.

6. Scholarships

Finals consumed my life in April so I wasn’t able to start applying to scholarships yet, which sucks. This month I want to make a list of all the scholarships I want to apply to over the summer (I’ll probably add to it as time goes on). Then I also want to apply to at least 5 scholarships this month. Wish me luck! && I’d love it if you have any tips on finding and applying to scholarships!

7. Make a Gardening Plan

I feel like I am getting a late start on this, but I’ve never had any kind of garden before so I’m not really sure. I want to do some research and make a plan for what I want to plant, when to plant it, and how to take care of it. Nothing too fancy, but a few easy vegetables would be awesome for my first garden! Please let me know any tips you have!

8. 30 Day Fitness Challenge

I posted a 30 Day Bikini Body Fitness Challenge that I was supposed to do during April, but I didn’t at all. However, I started it yesterday and really hope I can stick to it!

9. Get my Life Together

This may sound like a very vague goal, but I have a plan! May is going to be a month of decluttering and organizing in my home! Along with that I have started putting together a budget binder, a life binder, and a new and improved blog binder!

Plus I am incorporating a morning, night, and cleaning routines! Routines really help me keep my life on track so I am SO excited to be bringing them back!

What are some of your May 2017 Monthly Goals??

April 2017 Monthly Favorites

April 2017 Monthly Favorites

April was a good month for discovering new monthly favorites! The month didn’t go as planned what so ever and it was a very busy and crazy month. My April 2017 monthly favorites will show you just how crazy of a month it was. Mostly due to being sick basically the ENTIRE month. Along with that I finished up my 3rd year of college and had an extremely busy month at work.

If you want to hear more about how the month of April went, keep your eyes out for my April Monthly Recap! It will be a good one this month. Plus you will get a sneak peek on some major changes happening with Dreaming With Love!

My favorites don’t always change every month, but I will keep you updated on which ones do! Some months there will be different categories than other months. Here are my April 2017 Monthly Favorites of makeup, entertainment, food, quotes, and other random things.

Check out my March Monthly Favorites as well!

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.

I have been watching videos from NateWantsToBattle for a few years now. Recently I have been watching them a lot more again. I am a pretty big nerd and his pokemon parodies are some of my favorite songs to jam out to in the car. If you are into video games or enjoy fantastic music then I highly recommend NateWantsToBattle! He just came out with his first album and he is SO talented! Plus he puts SO much hard work into all of his content!

Sarah’s channel popped up in my recommended a few months ago and since I have become obsessed. When I first found her channel it was largely about minimalism and veganism so it isn’t the typical type of channel I like to watch. Yet I did anyways.

Since then she has been focusing more on inspirational messages and tips on how to follow and conquer your dreams. She is so inspiring and I absolutely LOVE her positive attitude! Watching her videos brighten up my mood instantly!

I may be a little biased because she is from Wisconsin, but she is seriously so great!

PlantBasedMatt is Sarah’s husband and he has a similar outlook on life as her. His channel is mainly about veganism, which I have grown more and more interested in since watching them. He only recently started his channel and I LOVE seeing how quickly he is improving in front of the camera!

If you are interested in veganism or living a healthier life then I HIGHLY recommend PlantBasedMatt!

Oh my gosh! This girl gives me so much happiness! She is the sweetest human being ever and makes the CUTEST art projects!

Honestly though she is so incredibly talented! I also love that she will ALWAYS tell it how it is and ALWAYS tell us the honest truth. Her videos are so much fun to watch and I recommend them to anyone who needs a little cheering up!

  • Google Photos

Google Photos has been a HUGE life saver for me! I have decided to try a little on my Instagram so my memory on my phone has been filling up FAST. Google Photos is a way for me to have the photos and videos on my phone AND computer without taking up extra memory space! I love it so much!

And having access to my photos on any device QUICKLY and EASILY has been amazing! HIGHLY recommend!

  • Risk

I’m sure most of you know about the board game Risk. Well they made it into an app and it now takes up a lot of my time.

Yes I know, I’m super late on this one. I had the app when it was first popular, but deleted it soon after. Now I’m obsessed!

It’s so much fun watching and getting inspiration from other’s videos. && I have a blast making fun videos of me and my kitties. Haha!

  • Burrito Bison

I was SO excited about this one! I used to play this game on the computer and now it’s an app. YAY! More ways for me to procrastinate….

Haha but honestly this is a fantastic game. One game of it doesn’t take long to play so it’s one of the better apps to procrastinate on.

  • Weeds

This was recommended to me by one of my friends and I have been loving it. I LOVE that it has a female lead. The show keeps you in suspense sometimes and overall has a good story-line.

  • 13 Reasons Why

I hopped on this bandwagon late and I’m about half way through the season… Still not sure how I feel about it. I already know how it ends because some JERK spoiled it for me. I think the concept for the show is really good, but I’m indifferent about how they went about some of the stuff. But I am going to continue watching and I’ll let you know my final thoughts.

  • Grey’s Anatomy

Yes I know this has been in my past couple of favorites posts, but guess what?? It’s in my April 2017 monthly favorites too!

Still one of my favorite shows even though half of the cast is dead or gone.

  • Peeps

What is an April 2017 monthly favorites post without including peeps?

Don’t judge me. Yes I am one of the few people on the planet that likes peeps. So when Easter comes around each year I get more than one person should have.

This year I also incorporated them into an Easter Dessert!

  • Apples

My two food favorites this month are completely opposite.. Haha! I have really been loving apples for a snack though! Most of this month I have been cutting up an apple and bringing it with me after lunch to snack on at work. They taste great, they are healthy for you, and they are VERY affordable! What’s not to like?

  • Renpure Originals Coconut Water Mist

I ran out of leave-in conditioner in the beginning of April and when I went to buy the same stuff I have been loving and using for months, the store was all out. So I took a risk and bought this leave-in treatment from Renpure Originals. Now I LOVE it! It smells great, leaves my hair smooth and soft, and removes the tangles so well! Plus it was very inexpensive!

  • OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener

If you read my April monthly goals then you know I am trying to stop biting my nails, it is such a NASTY habit. My mom gave me a bottle of the nail envy nail strengthener from OPI and it has been helping a ton! Having it on my nails not only strengthens them, but also reminds me to NOT bite my nails!

If your nails are weaker than you want, this stuff works miracles!

  • Tarte Maracuja Oil

Still LOVING this oil! Still have the same tiny bottle that I first received. I wrote an entire review on it HERE if you wanna know more about it!

I’ve loved pinterest for years now. However, this month I have been spending a ton of time on it again. It’s literally the best! So I just HAD to include it in my April 2017 monthly favorites.

I’m sure most of you already know what it is, but for those who don’t it is basically a visual search engine. I get all of my best ideas on every topic from Pinterest! I’d love it if you all checked out my Pinterest profile && leave a link to your pinterest in the comments so I can check out your profile as well!

This site is AWESOME and I know there are other sites similar, but this is my most favorite. Basically it just has every color scheme ever and you can even create your own! You can search for them with certain colors or keywords and I just love it! There is something so calming about seeing beautiful color schemes! && it makes it much easier to create beautiful graphics!

  • DayQuil + NyQuil

If you follow me on twitter then you know I’ve been sick the majority of April. DayQuil and NyQuil were my best friends for a couple of weeks so I had to include them.

  • Rice Pack

I don’t think I’ve ever used my rice pack as much as I did this month. It has been such a BLESSING to have! The sickness has made my entire body sore and the rice pack has helped so much! If you don’t have one, go get one OR they are SUPER easy to make if you know basic sewing.

  • Cough Drops

My sickness passed, but the terrible and annoying cough is STILL here. Cough drops and water are the only things that help. Hoping it goes away soon!

  • Thankful Thursdays

This month I started a new series called Thankful Thursdays and just posted week 4 yesterday! I have been LOVING this series because it has been holding me accountable to really take a step back and be thankful for the little things in life. Now I don’t know if you all are enjoying it or not, but it has been helping me a ton. Check it out and I highly recommend for everyone to do something similar!

Too often in life we only look at everything going bad instead of all of the things going right. They are so easy to overlook, but we need to be reminded of all the things in life to be thankful for!

I hope you enjoyed my April 2017 Monthly Favorites! Let me know what things you have been loving in the month of April as well!

March 2017 Monthly Recap & April 2017 Monthly Goals

March 2017 Monthly Recap & April 2017 Monthly Goals

March flew by, but I am so glad it did! Not because it was a bad month, it was actually a fantastic month, but it was cold. Obviously it has been cold for the past 6 months, but in March we saw a glimpse of warmth which made the cold that much worse. Other than that I had a very busy and productive month! I am ready for April and so excited for the things I have planned! So now on to my March 2017 Monthly Recap and my April 2017 Monthly Goals!

How did your March go?

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.

March Recap 2017

Make sure to read my March 2017 Goals before reading the recap!

1. Get everything completely unpacked

For those of you who don’t know, I moved in the beginning of March. One of my goals this month was to get everything completely unpacked. I am almost finished and plan on finishing up this weekend! It feels so good to have almost everything unpacked and organized.

2. Start a Budget

I kind of completed this goal. I started using an app called spending tracker and I love it. It has been helping so much and I think it put me on the right path I needed. I plan to sit down and work out a budget very soon. Let me know if you have any tips!

3. Complete 30-Day Challenge and Start a new one

I finished this goal and couldn’t be more proud! I started a 30-Day Fitness Challenge for arms and abs in the beginning of March and recently finished successfully! Also I began the 30-Day Water Gallon Challenge and am still struggling to complete it. There will be a post with a review of the gallon challenge after the 30 days are up. Also I will be starting a new 30-Day Fitness Challenge on Tuesday, April 4th!

Overall Thoughts on March

March turned out to be a better month than I thought it would be. I was finally able to start getting back into a routine and I know it will be even better when I completely finish unpacking and organizing. I was also able to start cooking and baking more after two months without my own kitchen. Oh how I have missed it!

 Dreaming With Love March Recap

March was the 3rd month of Dreaming With Love and I am so proud of how far I have come already. There has been a lot of hard work, setbacks, and daily struggles. However, I have persisted and came out on top every time! My page views and social media numbers grew the most this month than the past two which made me beyond excited. I have been having a hard time not comparing myself to other bloggers. Reminding myself daily to only compete with myself and that any progress is still progress.

April 2017 Monthly Goals

1. Start Crocheting Again

I learned how to crochet last year and love doing it. I’m not very good at it yet (practice makes perfect), but I have created a few items. I haven’t crocheted at all yet this year and I have multiple projects in mind. Normally I will crochet while I watch TV, but lately I have been so busy between work, school, blogging, and unpacking. This month I want to make time for it again!

2. Read (at least 1 book)

I used to read every day and reading is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Since I started college I rarely read anything for enjoyment anymore. This month I really hope to be able to set aside time each day or every other day.

3. Daily Journal

Having a daily journal helped me so much when I was struggling mentally last year. I really want to get back into the habit of daily journaling so I made it a goal this month!

4. Stop Biting Nails

I am so sick of being embarrassed of my short and weak nails. Since I can remember I have had an absolutely terrible habit of biting my nails. I feel too self conscious to wear nail polish because it draws attention to my ugly nails. Enough is enough. I am quitting and April will be the first month!

5. Scholarships

The fall semester will be here before we know it (I know it’s still spring semester but trust me). I want to get a head start and start applying for scholarships now. For April I am hoping to apply to at least 5 scholarships. I also want to find a bunch with deadlines later in the summer and have a list made. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

6. 30 Day Fitness Challenge

If you don’t already know, I did a 30-Day Fitness Challenge for arms and abs in March! I want to try to do a new challenge every month. My April one will be starting on Tuesday, April 4th!

7. Make a Gardening Plan

I have decided that I want to do a little gardening this year. I am finally in a house of my own with a back yard rather than an apartment! Now I don’t want a huge garden, but I would like to try to grow a few low maintenance vegetables. I have zero experience except when my parents used to force me to pick weeds. So I want to do some research and make a plan for this summer. I would love to hear any tips and suggestions you have!

What are some of your April 2017 Monthly Goals??

March 2017 Monthly Favorites

March 2017 Monthly Favorites

Time for my March 2017 Monthly Favorites! How in the world is it almost April already??  I seriously can’t even believe it, but I am SO ready for Spring and Summer! I made my Spring Wish List awhile back and just recently made my summer bucket list! Living in Wisconsin, I have been over winter since the day it started. Don’t get me wrong, I love the beauty of winter and snow, but the cold can leave now. Plus I hate the transition period from winter to spring because EVERYTHING is muddy and wet. Yuck!

It’s okay though! March was a great month! I moved (almost done unpacking) and am finally feeling like I’m getting back into a good routine. Here’s to hoping April will be a good month! Make sure to start it off right with some AWESOME APRIL FOOLS PRANK IDEAS! I am SO excited for April Fools this year!

Sorry about the long intro, but NOW lets continue with my March 2017 Monthly Favorites!

My favorites don’t always change every month, but I will keep you updated on which ones do! Some months there will be different categories than other months. Here are my March 2017 Monthly Favorites of makeup, entertainment, food, quotes, and other random things.

Check out my February Monthly Favorites as well!

March 2017 Monthly Favorites

I’ve been watching A LOT of youtube lately because I realized how much creativity and inspiration it gives me. Something about watching youtube videos makes my creative side start going crazy and I love it! My favorite people who I’ve been watching this month are:

If you have been reading my monthly favorites for a while then you know that I have been loving Hayley Paige for such a long time. She is a new mom and also has a ton of recipes and fashion videos. She also has a blog that I LOVE!

I discovered LaurDIY through MissRemiAshten and I have been loving her videos! As you can tell by her name, she has a ton of super awesome DIY videos. She also has a lot of life hacks and they are all super useful. Plus she has such an amazing personality!

LoveMeg is a mom of two, a SAHM with a firefighter husband, and such a genuine person! She has a ton of cleaning and organization videos, which I LOVE. Her videos are helpful and inspiring and I have been loving watching them.

I know, I know. I am so late with this one, but I recently started watching TheGabbieShow videos and I’m obsessed. She is so real in all of her videos and is hilarious!

  • Balloon Tower Defense Battles

A HUGE throwback to my childhood! I used to play the normal Bloon Tower Defense games on the computer all the time. I found the battle version on the app store and have been playing it way too much. Haha

  • AllRecipies

If you enjoy cooking or you just want ideas for meals then I highly recommend this app. It is like a pinterest just for recipes. You can save recipes to different boards to look back on later. It is so useful and I find myself on it all the time getting ideas for new meals.

  • Spending Tracker

I have a really hard time keeping a budget, but I’m getting better at it! This app is a life saver and is perfect for someone like me who struggles to stick to a budget. The app is super simple and you just add your income and expenses as they come. You can set up expenses at a future date and the app shows your current balance along with a breakdown of each category!

  • Breakfast Foods

I have honestly just been loving breakfast foods. Waffles, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, toast, and everything breakfast related. I’m not sure why, but I decided to make a post with my 3 favorite super quick, easy, AND healthy breakfast ideas!

  • Smoothies

I LOVE SMOOTHIES! enough said.

  • Soup

Soup is probably my favorite food. This month I made homemade chili, homemade potato soup, and homemade chicken dumpling. I love them all so much! I don’t make a lot of soups during the summer because that’s kind of weird in the hot months. So I decided to make them now while I have a good chance still.

So dramatic.

I have been reading and loving so many quotes this month! I have been feeling a little discouraged in life and quotes help me get refocused on my dreams and goals. I’d love to hear what your favorite quotes are!

  • “All our dreams will come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”  – Walt Disney

Disney quotes are incredible and so encouraging! I made a post of my 10 favorite motivational Disney quotes! I love reading them when I am feeling defeated.

  • “One day she discovered that she was fierce, and strong, and full of fire, and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears.”

I LOVE this quote SO MUCH! For all of the women reading, you are amazing (men you are amazing too, but I’m talking to the women right now). So women, you are amazing and powerful and are more than capable of following your dreams and succeeding beyond your expectations! If you want more inspiration, check out my Quotes for Queens!

  • “The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do.”

You can’t have goals and dreams and then barely do anything to reach them. It will take a lot of hard work, but it will be worth it! I have similar quotes on my Fitspirational post and they are especially perfect for those of you needing inspiration for a healthier life!

  • “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

I read this quote the other day and I LOVE IT! Doing things outside of your comfort zone can be awkward and intimidating, but I promise that it will be totally worth it in the end! It will help you grow as a person and open your mind to new things!

I know this is kind of a weird category to have, but I finally got my candles out of storage (and bought some new ones) after 2 months. I LOVE having candles all over the house so this month I have been going crazy with them. So I decided to add it as a category on my monthly favorites. Judge Me. I don’t care <3

  • Sweet Pea

This is one of my all time favorite smell and it’s PERFECT for Spring!

  • Fresh Linen

Yes I know this is weird. Clean laundry, fresh linen, you can’t tell me they don’t smell super good!

  • Tarte Maracuja Oil

I love this so much I made an entire post about it. It’s so worth checking out, so CLICK HERE quick!

  • Grey’s Anatomy

One of my favorite shows ever. Don’t recommend watching… SPOILER:

everyone dies.

  • Supernatural

Such a good show! My boyfriend and I started watching it and we are obsessed! He keeps watching it without me though…

  • The Voice

Loving this season so far! Happy Gwen is back, but I loved Miley too.

I hope you enjoyed my March 2017 Monthly Favorites! Let me know what things you have been loving in the month of March as well!

2017 Summer Bucket List

2017 Summer Bucket List

I know that it just officially became Spring, but I am so ready for summer! I have so many amazing things planned for this summer and I can’t wait to make Summer 2017 the best one yet! I’m not taking any classes this summer so I plan on spending a lot more time on my blog. I will still be working a full-time job, but I will make it work like always. I also plan on taking more time for filming and editing because that is truly my main passion.

Along with working, blogging, and filming, I also have a ton of other activities that I want to do. Since I couldn’t stop thinking about them I decided to create my 2017 Summer Bucket List! It is possible that this list will be added to as it gets closer to summer. I will also keep you updated whenever I complete something off of my list! Let me know if you have any other suggestions for fun summer activities!

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.

2017 Summer Bucket List

  • See a movie at the drive in theater

I used to go to the drive in quite often and I love it so much. It’s an entirely different experience than going to the actual movie theater. Bring some lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks!

  • Have a picnic in the park

  • Go star-gazing

  • Get a tan tattoo

This has been on my summer bucket list for a long time and this will be the year I finally do it! I’m not exactly sure what I want yet, but it will happen. I don’t generally tan a lot in the sun (because I burn super easy), but I plan to spend a lot of time outside.

  • Take a road trip

No idea where I want to road trip to, but I try to do a little one at least once a summer. Going to see something new in nature is my favorite and its super inexpensive! I will probably drive somewhere with some friends and go hiking (and of course take lots of pictures).

  • Take a weekend camping trip

I LOVE camping and most summers I go multiple times. However, this year I want to go somewhere at least a few hours away and spend the whole weekend there. I’ve done this in the past and it’s always a great time!

  • Visit the zoo

There are three pretty nice zoos in the area where I live and I want to go to all 3 this summer. Two of them are free admission which makes it even better. I love going to the zoo because I am a HUGE animal lover and I can always get some really nice pictures there!

  • Go to Valleyfair

Valleyfair is similar to six flags, but is way closer to me. I used to go to Valleyfair at least once a summer, but I haven’t the past couple of years. It is one of my favorite places to go and I’m making sure I can get there this summer!

  • Create a summer playlist

I want to start creating playlists for different things in my life (different moods, different activities, different time of the day/year, etc.) and my summer 2017 playlist will be one of them! I’ll let you know whenever I make new playlists.

  • Feed the ducks

I didn’t really need to put this on my bucket list because I will definitely do this multiple times throughout the summer. It’s so fun watching the ducks and enjoying the outdoors. Plus the ducks love it!

Side note: I read the other day that feeding bread to ducks is actually very bad for them. Apparently they like bird seed? I will have to do a little more research on that so I don’t hurt any more duckies.

  • Catch a fish

I don’t enjoy fishing that much and normally when I go I end up just laying in the sun because I get too impatient. It has been awhile since I have a caught a fish so this summer I’d really like to catch a bunch. Also I want to learn how to cook fish better so this is the perfect way to do that too!

  • Go to the trampoline park

A city about an hour away from me just got a trampoline park so I obviously have to go. I might do this before summer, but either way it will happen!

  • Go to Action City

Action City is a fun place with go-carts, rock climbing, bumper cars, laser tag, mini golf, and more. It’s such a fun place and I haven’t been there in a long time.

  • Go rollerblading

Rollerblading is one of my favorite things to do, but I haven’t had a pair of roller blades in way too long. This summer I am definitely getting a pair and using them all the time!

  • Wake up for the sunrise

  • Go Hiking in the Blue Hills

I’ve never hiked the Blue Hills, but I have heard of all the trails and beautiful things to see. Some of the places are 5+ miles deep in the woods, but there are other things closer as well. This summer I would love to go explore (with a map of course) multiple times! I want to take a ton of pictures out there and just enjoy the nature with family and friends. Seriously so excited for this!

  • Start a small garden

Growing up my parents always had a huge garden during the summer and I loved having access to all the fresh veggies! I have a very small yard and very little experience so my garden won’t be anything special this summer. However, I want to start growing a few things so I can get better at it and one day have a huge garden. Let me know if you have any tips!

  • Make homemade bread

I have been wanting to do this literally forever (okay not literally, but it feels like it) and to hold myself to it, I had to put it on a list. Again this might happen before summer, but either way it will be accomplished before the end of summer 2017.

  • Do a 7 Day Detox

Detox are so good for you and your body and I’ve always wanted to do one. I hope to eventually do one every few months to flush out my body. Let me know if you have any recommendations as to what detox to do!

10 Things I Can’t Live Without

10 Things I Can’t Live Without

The other day I was thinking about how many things I “need” in my life. When I don’t have these 10 things, it’s obviously not the end of the world. However, it does make me sad and often times gives me a little anxiety. I like things a certain way and I have certain routines I like to follow. These items play a special role in my life, but I technically would be able to live without them, I guess.

I (Kinda) Can’t Live Without:

1. Coffee

The only way I could be okay without ever having coffee again is if I just replaced it with tea. Don’t get me wrong though, I love coffee way more. I’m not dependent on it and I don’t have it every single day. However, it is a really comforting thing for me to have my coffee in the morning!

2. Slippers

I never used to wear slippers, I didn’t even own any except when I was really young. This past Christmas my brother got me a pair of slippers and I have fallen in love! My feet are literally always cold so I don’t know why I never thought of it before. Now I almost always have my slippers on when I am at home. I put them on first thing in the morning and don’t take them off unless I need to shower or leave. If you don’t have slippers, go get yourself some!

3. Mascara

Pretty self-explanatory. Even on my “no makeup days,” I almost always put on mascara. It takes barely any time and little to no skill, but it greatly transforms your look! I used to never wear mascara, but once I started to I fell in love.

4. Bubble Baths

This is another thing I fell in love with somewhat recently. I didn’t start taking bubble baths until my sophomore year of college when I was living in my first apartment. Now I take them as much as I can! I love having all sorts of smelly stuff and the bath itself is so relaxing. Light a candle, get a good book or watch a movie on your laptop, and just relax! However, I still find baths gross because you are literally laying in your own filth. So I always take a shower after as well. I know, I know… that’s wasting a lot of water, but its my treat to myself!

5. Youtube I can spend all day watching youtube videos. I love everything about the platform and all of the amazing creators.

6. Cereal

My guilty pleasure. I rarely eat cereal for breakfast, but it is the perfect midnight snack! By perfect I mean unhealthy, easy, and delicious.

7. Lotion

Living in Wisconsin (dry winters) lotion is a must! I use it even when it isn’t the dry season. Everyday. Hands, legs, face, everywhere. Always moisturize!

8. Chapstick

Same thing as lotion. I HATE dry lips. I almost always have a chapstick in my pocket. Plus one in my car, my purse, at work, coat pocket, and multiple places in my house.

9. Sweatshirt

I am always cold. I also always want to be able to be comfortable. By this I mean that I don’t wear sweatshirts everywhere all the time, but I like to always have one with just in case. One of the worst things for me is wanting to feel comfy and relax, but not having comfy clothes to change into. It’s tragic.

10. My Kitties

My two kittens are literally my world. I got Rex last year in April and he just turned one in the beginning of January. He is a big baby, but I love him. I then got Theo in October and he will turn one in the end of August. He is a little trouble maker, but can be a HUGE sweetheart. Rex and Theo are BEST FRIENDS! They play together, make messes together, cuddle together, and help clean each other. I’ve never seen two cats like each other so much and it melts my heart.

Sorry about the rambling, I love my kitties. I am always taking the best pictures of those two and plan on sharing them soon on my instagram @DreamingWithLuv (possibly making their own instagram)!

15 Awesome and Easy Prank Ideas for April Fools Day

15 Awesome and Easy Prank Ideas for April Fools Day

I know it’s only March, but I’m already super excited for April Fool’s Day! This year I’m preparing ahead of time. I normally last-minute realize what day it is and quick find an easy prank. It’s always a good time. However, this year I’m surprising those around me with pranks throughout the day. Here is a list of 15 super awesome April Fools Prank Ideas and they are all pretty easy. I don’t really like ones that involve food because that’s just too mean for me. I hate thinking about some of the food pranks being done to me so I just can’t bring myself to do them to others. However, I included a few food ones that aren’t terribly disgusting.

15 April Fools Prank Ideas

Also I named all of these pranks myself. Enjoy.

  • Confetti Car

Get some confetti OR get a couple of pieces of paper and a pair of scissors. Cut up the paper into little pieces, almost like… CONFETTI. Take your paper confetti and place it in someones car vents on the front dash (this only works if you live in an area where people need to use their defrost). Then when the person turns their vehicle on in the morning with the defrost… BOOM! CONFETTI!

  • Careful Where you Sit

For this prank, you need some of the little Pop-it noise makers. Place a few of them underneath the toilet seat. I shouldn’t have to explain what happens next.

  • Caramel SURPRISE

For this one you need:

  • Onions
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Caramel

  1. Peel Onions
  2. Put Caramel on Onions
  3. Push the Popsicle sticks into the onions.

Now set a tray out on the counter at work or home. Sit back and laugh.

  • Shower Time

I’m so excited to do this prank. Get some red drink mix of any kind. Put the mix in the shower head. When someone goes to shower it will look like blood is coming out of the shower.

  • Awww My Shirt is Wet

My favorite April Fools Prank to do when I was little. Get some electrical tape or scotch tape. Go to your kitchen sink. Put the tape around the sink sprayer. Someone will turn the water on and get sprayed!

  • The Classic

I feel like everyone and their brothers know this prank. Switch the salt and the sugar! Its easy. Only problem is sometimes it takes a while before anyone uses the salt or sugar.

  • Say Cheese

Make someone orange juice on the morning of April Fools Day. How nice of you… Except now add a little powdered cheese (from a mac and cheese box) into their drink.

  • I got a cup out for you.

This one would work perfectly with the previous. When you set out the pitcher of orange juice, next to it you can place a cup for them. Except it’s not an ordinary cup. Make sure the cup isn’t see through. Fill it up with about a cup of water and a few ice cubes. Get a thin piece of cardboard (cut out a piece from a cereal box) and place it over the cup. Make sure the cardboard covers the entire opening of the cup. Now flip the cup upside down and set it on the table (with the cardboard over the opening the entire time). Quickly slide the cardboard out from under the cup. Wipe up any excess water. Now wait for your victim.

  • KaBOOM goes the coca-cola

This one works perfectly for the person who needs their Coca-Cola (not sponsored, I wish though) everyday. Freeze ice cubes with mentos inside of them. Add them to a glass of coke and once the ice cubes melt, KaBOOM goes the coca-cola!

  • The Empty Bottle that is Full

This one is so simple yet so good. All you need is Saran wrap, scissors, and some bottles from the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc.). Take the caps off the bottles, place Saran wrap over the opening, screw the cap back on, and cut off the excess Saran wrap.

Now someone will try to get the contents out of the bottle and nothing will come out. You can also do this with the condiments in the fridge!

  • Too Much Work

I have seen pictures of this prank and it would be hilarious! However, its gonna take a lot of time and patience to set it up.

First, get a bunch of plastic cups. Fill all of the plastic cups with water and place them on the floor. Repeat until the floor is covered in cups of water to the point where you can’t walk through the room at all. I would hate to have this prank played on me, but I would love it to happen to someone else!

  • Loud Rug

Go get yourself some bubble wrap. Put the bubble wrap under a rug. Laugh when people step on rug.

  • Ooooo Look, a Penny!

I’ve done in school before and it was so funny. Plus it is super simple. All you do is super glue a penny to the floor. I did it in the doorway of a classroom. People will stop to pick it up, but it’s glued to the floor! Just make sure to put it heads up for good luck.

  • Hide and Seek

Take some of the things from someone in your house who is sleeping (parents, siblings, roommate, etc.). Make sure the things are valuable to them and that they will notice it is missing. Place a sticky note in place of the item or items you took. On the sticky note write instructions on to how to find the items. Lead them around the house with the use of multiple sticky notes. At the end, have their items waiting for them. You can make this prank last as long as you want!

  • Sticky Notes for Dayssss

I’m sure you have seen pictures of this prank everywhere. It’s another very time-consuming one, but it’s worth it. Get a bunch of sticky notes and completely cover someone’s vehicle in the sticky notes. Don’t leave any part showing. The windows, lights, everything. Just go to town with the sticky notes.

I will be doing most of these to my boyfriend (good thing he doesn’t read my posts Hehe) this year on April 1st. If you want to hear updates on how they go, make sure to follow my Twitter on April Fool’s Day!

I would LOVE to hear any of the Prank Ideas you have so I can use some of them on April Fools Day!

What to Give up for Lent: 15 Ideas

What to Give up for Lent: 15 Ideas

It’s the time of year when I start thinking about what I am going to give up for Lent 2017. I always want it to be something selfless and that will help me glorify God. You don’t have to only do these things during Lent 2017 season, but its a great start!

  • Social Media: I gave up social media last year for lent and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. No snapchat, facebook, twitter, instagram, or pinterest. It was difficult in the beginning, but by the end I felt more free and learned so much.
  • Candy and Sweets: This is a very common one to give up. With anything like this I just say, make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons. Don’t do it to “be healthier” or to “diet,” do it so you have more time to spend with God.
  • Sugary Drinks: Same goes for this as for candy and sweets. Make sure your intentions are good.
  • Meat: I’ve personally never given up meat, but it is very common. It’s a way to fast during the lent season.
  • Time spent getting ready: Make yourself spend less time getting ready everyday and spend the extra time with God. Praying, reading the bible, praising him, or quiet time.
  • Elevators: This one may sound silly, but I love it. If you use elevators on a daily business for work or apartment access, give them up for the lent season. While you walk the stairs, be intentional and spend that time praying or listening to music or sermons.
  • Throw away/Donate 40 Things: Explains itself and is a wonderful thing for so many reasons!
  • No eating after dinner: Same as candy, sweets, and sugary drinks. If you give this one up, make sure it isn’t just because you want to lose weight.
  • Turn off electronics @ 8pm: Spend the time you normally would on electronics, with God instead. Highly recommend the TV show, The Bible!
  • Bad Language/Inappropriate Jokes: I do this one for every lent and I try to continue it even outside of lent season.
  • Fast food and/or frozen meals: One more time, don’t do this just to lose weight.
  • Anything getting in the way with your relationship with God!!

  • Daily Journaling
  • Reading Scripture/Bible Study
  • Prayer

Lent 2017: What I am Giving Up

  • Bad Language/Inappropriate Jokes
  • Fast Food, Candy, Sweets, and Soda: Every time I have a craving for one of them, I will pray instead.

What things are you giving up for Lent 2017?

Monthly Favorites {February 2017}

Monthly Favorites {February 2017}

I know February is a short month, but it still went by really fast! It was a great month, but I am ready for Spring! I just made my Spring Wish List because this weather is amazing! I know we still have some winter left, but I’m sooo over it. So here we are, my February 2017 Monthly Favorites!

My favorites don’t always change every month, but I will keep you updated on which ones do! Some months there will be different categories than other months. Here are my February 2017 Monthly Favorites of makeup, entertainment, food, quotes, and other random things.

Check out my January 2017 favorites as well!

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.

February 2017 Monthly Favorites: Makeup

I didn’t branch out with my use of different makeup very much this month. I’ve been really busy and just haven’t had the time to experiment. However, I have been LOVING two products that I got from my January Ipsy!

Temptu Base Smooth & Matte Primer: My favorite primer to this day! It has an amazing consistency that feels light and hydrating. It absorbs into my skin quickly and does an incredible job keeping my makeup in place all day long. I also tried it as an eye primer, which failed, but it’s a great face primer. Highly recommend!

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Anti-Aging Concealer: The only thing I’m sad about with this product is that I only got a sample size and it’s almost gone. I’ve been savoring it, but I think I am going to have to get a full size. I struggle with dark circles and this stuff makes my under eyes look so awake and bright!

February 2017 Monthly Favorites: Youtubers

I didn’t spend as much time this month watching Youtube because like I said, I had a very busy month. However, when I had time I was obsessing over these three a lot in February!

Zoella: I’ve loved her from the first video of her’s I saw. She is so genuine and comes off as a huge sweetheart. She is hilarious and very entertaining to watch. Her and Alfie are the cutest and I love their content! The one complaint I have is that her videos are always so long. Some people love that, but I always have so many videos that I want to watch. So I don’t want to spend a half an hour on one video, but its worth it for Zoella

PointlessBlogVlogs: Alfie’s vlogging ability is SO GOOD! He is hilarious, inspiring, and always honest with his viewers. I’ve also been loving his game challenge because him and Zoella are currently playing Sims together!

Hayley Paige: This isn’t anything new. I have been loving Hayley Paige on youtube and her blog. She is a new mom and makes really honest and cute videos! Her and her husband are so amazing and inspiring.

February 2017 Monthly Favorites: Apps

MyFitnessPal: This is a calorie counter/exercise tracker. You enter how much water you’ve drank, what you eat for each meal/snack, and any exercise you do through out the day. I’ve used this app in the past multiple times and I love it every time, but I can never stick to it. It always makes me more aware of what I am putting into my body on a daily basis, which I love!

AllRecipes: I recently discovered this app and fell in love! It is like a Pinterest just for recipes! You can even enter what ingredients you have and it will find you recipe options. Highly recommend this to anyone who likes to cook/bake.

Pokemon Go: They just released Gen 2 so of course I have been playing a lot! It’s still too cold to go for walks while I play, but I am looking forward to that day.

February 2017 Monthly Favorites: Food

I haven’t been loving any specific recipes this month because once again (last time I swear) I haven’t had a lot of extra time so I haven’t been cooking much. With that said, I have been loving oatmeal, yogurt parfait, and fruit of all kinds. Strawberries, blueberries, bananas, oranges, apples, and kiwis! YUM!

February 2017 Monthly Favorites: TV Shows

The 100: Obsessed since I’ve seen the first episode. The season this year so far isn’t the best, but I have high hopes! I love the story, characters, everything. Seriously go watch this show.

Scandal: I started watching Scandal my senior year of high school. I’m currently behind a season because last year I had a class Thursday nights and I just didn’t keep up with it. Now my mom is watching it so I’m trying to catch up right now. If you are interested in politics or government at all then you will love this show. Olivia Pope is a badass!

Grey’s Anatomy: This show is everything. I started binge watching my freshman year of college and I finished all of the seasons way too fast. Most of my favorite characters are no longer on the show, but I still love it. The characters are amazing and there is always something huge happening!

February 2017 Monthly Favorites: Movies

Finding Dory: I finally saw this movie (because it’s on Netflix already!) and it was everything I wanted it to be and more. Finding Nemo was one of my favorites so I had high expectations for Finding Dory. Pixar did a fantastic job.

February 2017 Monthly Favorites: Quotes

No matter how serious life gets, you will constantly need those people you can be completely stupid with.

If you can DREAM it, you can DO it.

Let me know what you have been loving for the month of February 2017!

Winter Health && Beauty Tips: My Top 5

Winter Health && Beauty Tips: My Top 5

Winter time takes a huge toll on our mental and physical health! I came up with my top 5 winter health and beauty tips that I use to survive and thrive during the long winter months.

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way and all opinions are my own.

Winter Health and Beauty Tips #1: Moisturizers are your Best Friend

Seriously use lotion on everything,! Due to the dry winter air, your skin and hair will be dryer than normal. Moisturize your legs, face, arms, hands, lips, hair, feet, and anything else you can!

My Favorite Products to Use:

Winter Health and Beauty Tips #2: Sore throats? Natural Remedies!

Sore throats are so common in the winter time and they are so annoying. However, there are so many different foods to eat to help soothe and make your sore throat, well, not sore. In addition to fixing your sore throat, they are all very healthy for you to eat anyways. It’s really a win-win!

  • Tea (Lemon is my favorite)
  • Honey (put it in your tea)
  • Ice Cream (as if we need an excuse to eat some)
  • Bananas! (You should eat these everyday no matter what)
  • Cooked Carrots (I don’t like my carrots cooked, but this really does work)
  • Cooked Cabbage (I know it doesn’t taste the best, but it is worth it)

Winter Health and Beauty Tips #3: Watch your water!

  • First of all ALWAYS: Hydrate! I’m sure you hear this all the time, but it’s for a good reason! Water does miracles for your hair, skin, health, and body. Just drink it, all day long! Get yourself a good water bottle (my favorite) and take it with you everywhere!
  • Avoid hot water on your skin and hair! I literally suck at this and I always will. I LOVE steaming hot showers and I’m not giving them up. As a result, I have dry hair and skin. However, I try to end my shower with cold water, for a short time. If you can, avoid hot water. It dries out your skin and hair which we definitely don’t want!

Winter Health and Beauty Tips #4: Stay social and active!

Once again, I suck at this one in the winter time. It’s cold out and I just want to stay inside with my robe and slippers where it is cozy and warm. Don’t do this though. You need to continue to do activities with friends and family so you don’t fall into a slump. It is very common in Winter and sometimes uncontrollable, but planning weekly activities is a great way to try to avoid the winter blues.

  • Plan a girls/guys night
  • Go out for coffee or a meal with friends
  • Join a weekly activity in your community
  • Volunteer your time
  • Meet up with a friend once a week to try to learn a new hobby
  • Have dinner at your (parents, grandparents, friends, etc.) house once a week

Winter Health and Beauty Tips #5: Set weekly or daily goals

Finally, the last of my winter health and beauty tips. I recently started doing this one and it makes a huge difference on my overall mental health! Having a goal that you are working towards daily and weekly helps you stay motivated and stay on task. It helps my mind feel less distracted and stressed. Instead of thinking about every little thing that I need to do, I write it all down, and focus on my overall goal of the day and week. I also have larger goals for the month, year, and next 5 years. These goals may change and that’s okay! Most of all just make sure you are working towards something bigger, one day at a time!

What tips do you have for surviving and thriving in the Winter Time? I love trying new winter health and beauty tips! Also let me know if you try out any of the above tips and what you thought!
