Today is my 21st birthday.

My 16-year-old self is screaming inside from excitement. My 21-year-old self isn’t necessarily screaming like the 16-year-old, but she is still pretty ecstatic.

21 Years Old.

How did this happen? Where has the time gone?

Don’t get me wrong, the last 21 years have been great, overall. They’ve been filled with so many good memories, bad memories, mistakes, and milestones. I’m proud of who I’ve become and I’m excited to see what the age 21 will bring me (and I’m not just talking about the Whiskey).

I didn’t plan on doing a post for my 21st birthday… I didn’t even really think about it until the other day and then I just wanted to, so I did 😛

Since I’ve been focusing a lot lately on Self-Reflection, I decided to take the time to reflect on the past year as a 20-year-old.

Overwhelmed. Defeated. Uninspired.

Do you want to beat overwhelm, take back control of your life, and get sh*t done?

Honestly, same.

We all experience overwhelm in our lives. It’s unavoidable especially if you have a busy schedule, which most of us do. Wanting to do a huge list of things, but having no time to do it?

Yeah, I feel that way every single day.

However, I have learned that you can’t have this kind of attitude if you want to be productive. It will make you feel defeated before you even start and you’ll lose all motivation. So if you feel this way often, I have some great tips to share with you that will guide you in the right direction in order to beat overwhelm and get sh*t done!

Beat Overwhelm, Take Back Control, and Crush Your Goals {Dreaming With Love}

Before you learn how to beat overwhelm, you need to identify the why.



Being unorganized is a great way to feel overwhelmed easily. Your mind is constantly racing and you have so much to do, but no plan or no clue where to start. Sound familiar?

Whether your entire life is unorganized or just part of it, this WILL contribute to the feeling of overwhelm.

If in the past you have been well-organized and now you aren’t, maybe it’s time to make a few changes to gain back some motivation. Change up your daily routines, get yourself a new planner, or start a new daily habit. Changing even the smallest thing may spark your motivation to get organized again.

Wanting Perfectionism

You need to accept that you are not perfect, you will never be perfect, and nothing you do will ever be perfect. If you strive for perfectionism, you will end up falling short, and you can’t let that discourage you.

Aim for your best possible, but know that your best is not perfect.

Priorities aren’t Defined

If you have a huge list of things to complete, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Especially if you don’t know which ones are more important to you than others. Knowing what your priorities are and what to complete first will help you feel more accomplished at the end of the day.

Too Many Things on your Mind

One of the main reasons we feel overwhelmed is because there are just too many things on our minds. Constantly new things come up and our mind is wandering from one to the next.

Now that you have identified the reason you’re feeling overwhelmed, here are my best tips to beat overwhelm!


Take a Step Back, Make a List, and Prioritize It

First things first just take a step back from everything and set aside time to get yourself organized. Now make a list of everything you have to do, little or big put it on the list. At this point, you may feel worse because you’re seeing everything you have to do on paper.

I find it nice to put my things in categories (cleaning, school, work, etc.). The next important thing to do is number your list according to what are your top priorities. I also like to put the things that will take less than 5 minutes into a category. Personally, I do these first because crossing things off my list help motivate me to do more.

Plan Ahead

One huge way to avoid feeling overwhelmed is by planning ahead. I still need to work on this because I am always finishing things last-minute.

Planning ahead allows you to feel so much less stressed and overwhelmed. This isn’t always possible (if I do my dishes twice today, I’ll still have to do more tomorrow) but you should take advantage of it wherever you can in your life.

Take Small Steps

You won’t be able to completely turn your life around in one day, one week, or even one month. It will take time, a lot of time, to make a lifestyle change. Take small steps to get closer to where you want to be. If you try to change or do too much at once, this will cause even more of an overwhelming feeling.

So if you’re trying to be more organized start with making a daily to-do list. Once you have this down you can start planning out a week in advance. Then you can begin organizing specific parts of your life (cleaning routine, side hustles, etc.).

Work Smarter Not Harder

Yes I know, it’s cliché, but it’s true. Find ways to work smarter and be more productive.

Eliminate any and all distractions. Turn off the tv, put your cell phone in another room, disable email notifications and social media notifications, and get rid of anything else distracting.

Delegate any tasks that you can. Have the family help how with cleaning, cooking, and other chores around the house. If you’re overwhelmed with your business, consider hiring someone. In any parts of your life that you can delegate, take advantage of it.

Finally, pay more attention to how you’re managing your time. Are you spending it doing things that need to be done or are you wasting a lot of your time? Pay attention and fix what needs to be fixed.

Find Your Passion and Make Work Fun or Find Motivation

Easier said than done, but if you enjoy doing your work it will be so much easier to do. Plus you won’t feel as overwhelmed if it’s less “work” and more “fun”. Remind yourself why you started and why you’re doing what you’re doing.

If it’s for something like cleaning or something else you truly don’t want to do, then create a reward. Write down some sort of reward you can have once you finish your tasks. Whether it’s something as small as a candy bar or something bigger like getting your hair done. Base the reward off of how large and time-consuming the task is.

Learn from your mistakes

My final tip for you is to learn from your mistakes during this entire process. I cannot stress how important it is to reflect on the things you’ve done! Check out this post for more information (it’s so important I have an entire post on it). Look back and see what worked, what didn’t work, and what you can change to make next time go smoother.

Reflecting and learning from your mistakes will help you avoid feeling as overwhelmed the next time life gets crazy.

The Importance of Daily Self-Reflection

So far during this year, I have been focusing on bettering myself in little ways every single day. Creating good habits, being conscious of what I put in my body, destroying bad habits, chasing my dreams, focusing on my future, and doing what makes me the happiest. One of the main things I have learned during this lifestyle change is how important it is to have daily self-reflection! Without it, goals are near impossible to achieve, bad habits are harder to break, and you’re unable to improve upon your mistakes.

So my question for you is:

After you make the decision to go after your dreams, the next most important thing you can do is start practicing daily self-reflection. Don’t worry, I’ll tell you exactly why you need to practice daily self-reflection. I’ll also give you some ideas on how to get started.

I talked a little about daily self-reflection in a previous post on how to improve your mood on a bad day, but I decided it was such an important topic, it needed its own post.

If you begin daily self-reflection, I promise you, you will get positive results out of it and it will change your life for the better. So let’s get into it!

It’s so easy to set New Year Resolutions and monthly/daily goals, however for whatever reason most of us are unable to stick to our goals. We never end up achieving them because we don’t follow through. We write down the goals and then forget to look at them ever again.

Self-Reflection fixes this problem!

All you have to do is write down your goals (I recommend having yearly, monthly, and weekly goals along with daily objectives) and put them somewhere that you can see them every day. I keep mine in my life binder that I use every single day and I write down my daily objectives in my planner.

Now that you have a designated spot for your goals, you need a designated time to review them each day. I’ve found that either the beginning or end of the day (or both beginning and end) are the ideal times.

During this designated time, you should reflect on your daily objectives and see what went good and what went wrong. Where can you improve? What is your biggest weakness of the day?

This time can also be used to get your focus ready for the next day. What do you need to accomplish to get closer to your overall goal? What can you do to make sure you stay productive and on task?

Reviewing your goals daily will increase the probability of you achieving your goals! You just have to stick to it, no matter what.


This has been a HUGE goal of mine this year and it’s so difficult! They are called habits for a reason. Without implementing daily self-reflection, it would literally be impossible to change them.

One of the best things I’ve ever decided to do is start a ‘daily habit tracker’. It’s just a sheet with a list of daily habits I’d like to start/stop. Each day I check off each one that I either did or didn’t do.

This allows me to look back and see my progress and it’s also super motivating because I LOVE checking off things I have completed. I keep my daily habit checklist in my life binder as well, right next to my goals. HIGHLY recommend this!


This one is a HUGE reason to start practicing daily self-reflection. We only have one life to live (YOLO) so why wouldn’t we strive to have the most fulfilling life possible?!? It’s a no brainer!

Of course, it sounds much easier than it is, but it is SO WORTH the hard work! Plus this can apply to so many things in your life. If you’re a rather lazy person and want to become more motivated, self-reflection can help. You need to find things that get you motivated. The best way to do so is by reflecting daily on “what went well, what didn’t go well, what can you change”. Then make the changes and learn from your mistakes.

Self-Reflection is all about being aware of your strengths and weaknesses and learning from them.


“Retrain your brain” sounds really weird, I know… but I didn’t know how else to title it. Retraining your brain is actively teaching yourself to focus on the positives in life, even the little ones.

This honestly works so well. Throughout the day or at the end of the day think about what you’re grateful for. When something goes a different way than you wanted, try your best to find a positive result, even if it is super small. Life is too short to let things ruin your day. Dwell on it for a little bit if you need to then move on. I’m not saying to suppress your emotions, just keep moving forward and never give up on finding a solution.

Daily journaling can be beneficial for so many reasons and I highly recommend it to everyone. It’s a place to write down all of your thoughts, failures, and dreams. Plus I really enjoy looking back in my journal to see how I’ve changed as a person or to remember certain memories. There are so many benefits from keeping a journal!

Writing about your day and thoughts is a great way to take time and think about every little aspect of your life. Things you want to change, things you love, ideas you have, dreams and goals, and everything in between. Seeing it all on paper helps put more reality into it.

For a little motivation, get yourself a cute journal!


I talked about this already, but it’s seriously the best thing you can do if you’re struggling to achieve your goals. It’s so easy to set a goal, even write it down, and then never look at it again. As I mentioned before, you need to write down your goals and put them in a place where you will see them every.single.day.

Take action to do something each day that gets you closer to your goals. You need an action plan and you need to review your goals every day.


If you don’t do anything else then do this. Start or End your day with time set aside for you to reflect and plan. Look back on yesterday and pick out the main positives and negatives of the day. What would you like to change, how can you improve, and what do you want to continue doing?

Now plan the next day. What are your main objectives? Which goals do you want to focus on? What can you do to better yourself and your future?

Take the time to really reflect on yesterday and plan out the next day. This will change your mindset to be more positive and motivated!


Start Small.

If you’re anything like me then you have a huge list of things in your life that you’d like to improve. Well not to break your heart, but perfection is impossible. You will NOT be able to completely change your life in one day or even one month and you will never ever achieve perfection. It will take a lot of time and dedication to make any changes. If you try to make too many huge changes too quickly, you will get overwhelmed and end up being right back where you started.

I had to learn this the hard way. PLEASE listen to this tip even if you don’t listen to anything else!

The best way I’ve found to start small is by taking everything day by day. If you make even slight progress, it’s still progress and is so motivating as long as you focus on the positives. Also keeping track of your progress is extremely inspiring to keep going. When you’re feeling defeated, look back on your progress and think about how far you’ve come rather than how far you have left to go!

Short Film Review In A Heartbeat {Dreaming With Love}

Isn’t it INCREDIBLE?!?! My heart is so happy! This short film is so beautifully made and even with no dialogue, In A Heartbeat said so much! Basically, 2 college students, Beth David and Esteban Bravo, created this amazing short film and it has blown up on the internet. I was so happy as I watched the short film because it is such a great way to help start the conversation about LGBTQ!

The LGBTQ community is rarely represented in media (film, television, etc.) so when they are represented as part of the main story, just like In A Heartbeat, we can see that strides are being made.

It is 2017 for crying out loud, by now there should be a ton of films that correctly represent LGBTQ and all minority groups!

I love that this film shows the heartbreak and embarrassment of this little boy because those feelings are all too true and all too often overlooked. I am not part of the LGBTQ community but I have many family members and close friends who are, so watching this film was so wonderful to finally see.

While I was watching In A Heartbeat, I could only think about one thing.

No one should ever have to “come out” because we shouldn’t be assuming that everyone is straight until they tell us otherwise. By now we know that a large number of humans do not identify as straight so why are we still considering it “the norm”?

Why are we still forcing heterosexuality into the heads of children?

Our society makes it seem that if you’re not straight then you’re not normal. This leads to more confusion and bullying which leads to loads of negative outcomes. All because someone loves someone they “aren’t supposed to”.

Also, LOVE is LOVE no matter who the two people are. Shouldn’t we just be happy that other people are happy??

It’s about time that media and society as a whole start to represent every single group EQUALLY. We need more shows and movies where “normal” people aren’t heterosexual and it isn’t the end of the world. By doing this we will help the LGBTQ children feel less alone/different and it should even lessen the bullying.

At the very least it will help start more conversations which really is the most important thing we can do right now.

Raise awareness. Educate anyone who will listen. Always keep trying.

Media has SO much control and I’m afraid that the majority of it is being used in a negative way. It has the ability to start everyday conversations, but the conversations that are being started are negative and overall unhelpful.

Shouldn’t society be utilizing the tool of media in a more positive and uplifting way? In a way that betters our society as a whole rather than making it worse?

When will this change?

How can we help bring about change faster?

A Look into My Life: Radio Show


Today is the day I start my radio show.

I NEVER even imagined that I would ever be on the radio let alone have my own show.

That is until last summer when I made it a goal of mine.

My Radio Show


I started working at this radio station last summer as an intern. Majoring in communications, I thought experience in radio would be PERFECT. I had an incredible summer and learned so much. The job had (and still has) a lot of surprises, but it keeps me on my toes and keeps things exciting.

Towards the end of the summer, I told myself that I WOULD have my radio show at some point in life. Even if it was for a short period of time, I knew that I wanted to have one and that I eventually would.

And I was lucky enough to get the opportunity much sooner than I thought I would.

After the summer, I went back to Madison where I was attending college. That fall semester I went through a lot of struggles and made the decision to transfer to ASU Online (if you’d like to know why I’ll be writing a post on it very soon). Going to online school allowed me to move back closer to my parents until I finish school. So I decided to get in contact with the owner of the radio station and see if there was a position available.

Originally he wanted me to do full-time sales… I’m majoring in film and media studies and have ZERO desire to do any type of sales EVER. In addition to that, there was no way I was going to work full-time while attending school full-time (huge props to those who do it but it’s unnecessary for me).

So I turned down the position and began looking for a different job.

A couple of days later the owner of the radio station got in touch with me again and offered me a flex position as the administrative assistant. I was hesitant, but I accepted and am glad I did.

Fast forward a few months

The sales manager/morning show host moved on to another job. We recently hired a new sales manager, but the morning show still hadn’t been filled. This isn’t a huge issue, but our listeners miss having a morning show.

That’s where I come in.

Starting TODAY I have my own radio show on WJBL 93.1 The Dice.

My radio show is every Monday through Friday from ten to noon central time! If you’re interested in listening, you can tune us in at wldywjbl.co or find us on the Mixlr App!

I can’t begin to explain the rush of emotions I’ve felt since finding this out in the middle of July.

First I was excited.

Next, my nerves kicked in full blast (but I’m a master at not showing how nervous I am).

In order to better prepare me, one of the things I did is fill in for other people on their 2-hour shows. I started by doing afternoon swap which is 15 minutes long but involves answering the phone live-on-air. Next, I did 2-Hour-Energy by myself and had a BLAST. This is where my nerves went away a ton and they diminished more and more with each show I did. Last week I even did the Wake Up Show and Morning News Hour. It was more intense, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

I have been working hard to prepare and am very excited to begin my radio show.

First Apartment Checklist & Essentials

You’re moving out for the first time?!?! How EXCITING!

Whether you’re moving away for college, work, travel, or any number of reasons, this is a huge next step in your life. When I moved out of my parent’s house and into my first apartment, I felt confident and excited. I soon realized that there was a lot of things I was completely clueless about and A LOT of things I needed to go out and buy because I completely spaced that I needed it. *Face Palm* This led to the creation of my ‘first apartment checklist’ so you can all learn from my mistakes. (I’m sure you’ll have plenty other mistakes to make on your own)

I’ve broken down the first apartment checklist into 6 categories of essentials. Having been moved out for 3 years now, I have learned that these are the things I absolutely need to have.  You may need to add more things and even take a few things off of the list. Either way I hope this first apartment checklist is beneficial to you and helps you stress a little less about moving!

The kitchen is where you need the most things, especially if you plan on eating more than mac and cheese, pizzas, and ramen. Trust me, it gets old FAST. Depending on what you cook will determine your kitchen essentials. Over the past three years of living on my own, I have found that these are the things that I need in my kitchen!

Many bathroom essentials are common sense, but it can be easy to forget some things too. For example, you don’t want to wait to buy a plunger until you need one, at that point you will need it NOW. These things are absolutely essential to any bathroom. However, ask your landlord if you will need to bring your own shower curtain and rings or if there will already be one there.

The bedroom essentials are the most straight forward. If you are trying to get the bare minimum then technically you just need a mattress, pillows, and bedding. However, I find that the rest of the items on the list are used on a daily basis.

Living Room

The living room can be broken down into 3 essential categories: Seating, Entertainment, and Lighting. Obviously seating can be a couch and/or chair. Entertainment involves a tv and possible game consoles. Last but certainly not least is lighting. This may not seem important but the last apartment I lived in and the current house I live in do not have any lights in the living room. Bring at least one lamp either way, just to be safe.

Two of these items may be questionable “essentials” but I will tell you why you need them.

First item is rubber gloves. I used to clean without them, but they are the BEST dollar (yes just one dollar) I’ve EVER spent. I don’t have to worry at all about getting gross stuff on my hands.

Next is the magic erasers. I just recently used a magic eraser for the first time (my friend dyed her hair blue and rinsed it out in my tub causing my tub to be stained blue) after my mom recommended it to me. OMG! Where have these been my whole life?!?! If you have any kind of stains or small areas (in between tiles, stove/oven, literally everywhere) then you need to get yourself some magic erasers. You can thank me later.

August Monthly Goals & July Recap {2017}

July was my first month back after taking a month off from blogging and WOW DID I LEARN A LOT!

I didn’t achieve any of my July monthly goals but I learned so much about myself and the things I need to do to succeed! ( And I am SO ready to crush my August monthly goals) Normally I am pretty disappointed when I don’t reach my goals but what I did instead this month was so much more important.

I slowly got myself back into the blogging world while simultaneously getting my personal life back under control. Honestly, I haven’t felt this organized in a long time and it is an INCREDIBLE feeling!

August is here and I am ready to crush my goals!

One thing I kept in mind while setting my August monthly goals is that I can’t do it all. I have a problem of wanting every aspect of my life to be perfect… then when it isn’t I feel defeated. So for August I am focusing on a few areas and will add more areas in September. After feeling overwhelmed for months, I knew this was the change in mindset I needed. Wish me luck!

August Monthly Goals ~ Life

  • Complete Daily Habits

I started tracking my daily habits in July, but didn’t stick to it very well. So far August has been going well for me with this so I hope I can continue it. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, I plan on doing a post on it very soon!

  • Stick to monthly budget

The last few months I have been paying a lot more attention to my finances. So one of my August monthly goals is to actually stick to a budget. Fingers crossed!

  • Drink More Water

I went out and bought myself a cute water bottle from the dollar tree (Treat Yo’ Self!) and I am ready to drink water all day long!

  • Clean Daily

Cleaning is on my daily habits list, but I really want to focus on getting a good cleaning routine. In the month of August this will be one of my priorities. I know I won’t clean every.single.day, but I hope to do at least one task most days. And I think this is very attainable!

August Monthly Goals ~ Blogging

  • Finish Redesigning Website

You guys know I have been ‘redesigning’ my website literally forever. It took me forever to decide on the perfect theme and then I had technical difficulties for dayzzz (literally though). Luckily customer support was AMAZING.

Basically it just took me a long time to figure out what I want and now I know! It’ll probably change again soon, but whatever. I am SO excited for the changes to come and I would LOVE to hear feedback on anything and everything!!

  • Start Newsletter

One of my main objectives this month is to grow my email list. My first newsletter is almost complete and I am very happy with it and excited to send it out! So get ready and get signed up for my newsletter!! Whoo Hoo!

  • Plan 1st Email Freebie

I have multiple email freebie ideas already and couldn’t be more excited ( a lot of excitement this month). I’ve started planning and designing the first freebie so my goal is to have it finished by the end of August! I’m not sure when I will make it available, but I want it finished so I can begin working on the next one. (:


August is going to be a GREAT month whether I achieve all of my August monthly goals or not. I’m starting classes again, have HUGE plans for Dreaming With Love, and it’s the last month of SUMMER. Here’s to a WONDERFUL month full of productivity, positivity, and most importantly; HAPPINESS <3

As I write this post, it is July 9th at 8:35PM, so I’m a little late… but oh well. July has already been a crazy busy month and there are so many July Monthly Goals I want to accomplish. I’ve been doing good so far and have been having a very positive month. Fingers crossed the positive vibes continue!!

  • Redesign Dreaming With Love Website

Some of you know that I have already started this process, but it is taking me longer than I had hoped. I still have a lot left that I want to do, I just have to do it. So keep your eyes open for some beautiful changes on Dreaming With Love <3

  • Start Newsletter

I have been saying that I want to start my newsletter forever, but it seriously needs to happen already. The sign-up will be up by the end of the month!

  • Plan an Email Freebie

I want to have a ton of email freebies for those of you who sign up for my newsletter. However, I have to start my newsletter first… But this month I want to at least plan my first email freebie so that I can design it next month!

  • Post Every Monday and Saturday

Especially every Saturday, but I won’t be too disappointed if I miss a Monday. Saturdays are for my less personal and more helpful posts. I’m lacking in numbers on those posts and they are the ones that attract new readers so I need to make them my priority this month.

I have been getting the best feedback from Twitter and Pinterest this month so I want to make them my priority. Next month I will be bringing back my instagram as well! I really enjoy connecting with others on Twitter, so if you haven’t already, go follow me on Twitter and Pinterest!!



  • Complete Daily Habits

I’ve started a checklist to keep track of some daily habits I want to start. I’ve heard it works well and I am excited to give it a try. I will let you all know how it goes!

  • Workout 3 times per week

This is going to be tough for me because I find excuses all the time… But I really want to try it! I’d be happy to lose a few pounds, but I mainly just want to tone up and be healthier.

Indie Boy {Dreaming With Love July Monthly Goals}

  • Walk Indie Everyday

So we kind of have a dog at the moment… and his name is Indie. I made it a goal to take him for a walk everyday, at least once. He needs to burn the energy, its healthy for me, and it gets us both outside.

  • Read 30 Minutes 2 times per week

I love reading but I never make time to do it. I’d love to get back to reading every day, but that’s just not realistic right now. But I think can do 2 times a week!

  • Cook Dinner 4 times per week

I don’t really enjoy cooking, but if I don’t cook I end up eating unhealthy foods. I am going to try really hard to cook supper at least 4 times each week.

  • New Recipe once a week

Since I moved out of my parents, I have learned to cook a lot of different things. However, I still feel as if I’m making the same things over and over. I need more variety and I love discovering new recipes that are easy to make and delicious to eat! If you have any suggestions please let me know!

  • Pamper Night once a week

Self care is such an important thing to do yet it falls low on my list of priorities all too often. I want to make time once a week for about an hour to take a bath, do a facial, body scrub, deep condition my hair, or just to relax with a book. If I don’t schedule out time for it then I won’t ever get to it.

  • Complete 2 Deep Cleaning Tasks per week

I have started a deep cleaning log where I track what things in my house need to be deep cleaned and when they last were. My goal is to complete at least two tasks off of my deep cleaning log every week. They range from small to big projects so it should be easily done. Plus I love completing something off a list and I love having a clean home. (:

How to Brighten Your Mood on a Bad Day

A Bad Day is NOT a Bad Life

We are all bound to have bad days but a bad day does not have to mean a bad mood. When life doesn’t go the way we want it to, we can easily fall into a negative mindset. Life happens and things happen that are out of our control. However, the way we react to situations and our overall mood is in our control. Sometimes it may feel like you have no choice but to be in a bad mood, but I promise that isn’t true! I want to let you know ways to improve your mood on a bad day! It’s easier than you think and it is honestly all in your head.

Falling into a hole of negativity can be easy to do and can happen without you even noticing. The first and most important step to brightening your mood is to be able to recognize when you’re falling into a bad mood. 

Once you have realized that you are slipping into a negative mindset, it’s time to find out why.


Self-reflection is such an important thing to have in our everyday life. It is extra important when you are trying to improve your mood. Sometimes you really have to dig deep to understand your negativity, other times it is an obvious reason. Whatever the case, you need to take some time and reflect on what has led you to this bad mood.

Some of my favorite ways of doing this are

  • Write It Down

Personally, I have a journal that I write in daily. If you don’t keep a journal, you can just write it down or type it somewhere. The point is writing down how you’re feeling and possible reasons why. Seeing everything on paper (or screen) may help you understand better to either fix the problem or just improve your mood.

  • Have Quiet Time

This is one of my favorite things to do and it really helps to put everything into perspective. Life gets overwhelming at times so a good habit to develop is having daily quiet time. Find a spot you’re comfortable in, away from people and distractions, and just spend time thinking about everything. Your problems, weaknesses, future goals, where your life is compared to where you want it to be.

Spending time with your thoughts often allows you to thoroughly think through everything.

  • Talk About It

Having a listening ear or someone else’s perspective and advice can be very beneficial. Just speaking about your problems out loud can help you realize things you didn’t before.

Once the problem has been identified, you can begin improving your mood! Yay!


The next question to ask yourself:

Can I control the situation and fix the problem?

If the answer is yes, then make a plan and fix the issue!

If the answer is no, then stop worrying and distract yourself with something that makes you happy!

  • Get Active

    • Go on a nature walk
    • Go for a run
    • Stretch, yoga, Pilates
    • Workout

If you need workout ideas or inspiration, I really like the app Sworkit. Also, THIS is my favorite website to get inspiration and workouts from. Blogilates has a ton of videos plus a new calendar for every month so you know you are working out every part of your body throughout the month. It’s perfect for all levels and has a huge variety of options to choose from! && no this isn’t sponsored, I just really love it!

  • Treat Yourself

    • Take a Bath
    • Spa Day (Facial, Nails, Etc.)
    • Bake your Favorite Dessert
    • Buy Yourself Something Nice
    • Order Delivery or Take Out

Find something you enjoy doing, but don’t do often because of time, money, health, etc. and JUST DO IT! Every now and then you need to do something special for yourself and you deserve it anyway!  Plus it’s the perfect way to distract your mind from any negativity.

  • Get Organized/Tidy Up/Yard Work

    • Deep Clean
    • Garden/Pull Weeds
    • Declutter

This may not sound appealing to some, but personally, I rarely get time to do these types of things. When I finally make the time I enjoy it so much and afterward I feel 100% better. Something about cleaning, organizing, etc. is so soothing and stress relieving for me! && checking off something from my to-do list is the BEST feeling!

  • All Things Media

    • Watch your Favorite Movie
    • Put on some Upbeat and Fun Music
    • Read a Book
    • Binge watch Netflix, Youtube, etc.
    • Play your Favorite Video Game

Media can be such a useful resource to help distract us from our everyday stresses and problems. It can be uplifting, inspiring, and motivating and can be one of the best ways to improve your mood!


These ways to improve your mood are meant to distract you for a period of time from problems that are out of our control. Or even from one of those days where you’re just in a bad mood for no reason. They can help you reset and get ready to tackle the next day. In no way am I telling you to ignore your problems, but there is zero reason to worry about something out of our control.

Life is way too short to be in a bad mood any longer than necessary!

Where Have I Been? {Life Update and Refocusing}

Hello my sweet little pumpkins <3 

I know, I know. I’ve been gone for WAY too long. Let me explain.

If you follow me on social media then you have an idea of where I have been (also thank you SO much for your support). If you don’t follow me on social media, what are you doing with your life? Go follow me. I’ll wait <3

Now I have a question for all of you…

Have you ever felt so overwhelmed by life that you just can’t do it anymore?

I’m sure you have, but you probably handled it much better than myself. Lately my anxiety has been out of control and I have been feeling overwhelmed so frequently. My first instinct is to just drop everything and focus on something else entirely. This might be okay if I didn’t feel this way multiple times a day.

But anyways, this overwhelming feeling hit me so hard because I was putting way too much pressure on myself and Dreaming With Love. It was unhealthy and out of control. I felt I had no other option, but to take a step back and reflect.

&& I am SO happy I did.

Along with the overwhelm, the universe literally made it so clear to me that I needed a break. First my website expired and I planned on renewing it when I got home from work. However, when I made it home I found out that our new puppy decided to chew up my laptop charger. (WHY ARE MACBOOK CHARGERS $80?!) It was just so clear to me that I needed to take some time off, re-focus, reflect, and pay more attention to my self-care, so I did.



  • The Purpose of Dreaming With Love

One of things I wanted to focus on during this month was my exact purpose and future goals for Dreaming With Love. I narrowed down the topics I want to focus on and feel so much more confident now.

In the beginning I knew I wanted a blog and I wanted to help people with it. Now I know exactly what I want to help people with and how I am going to do it. I talk more about this at the end of this post (:

  • Being Genuine is SO Important

This isn’t a new idea to me. I’ve heard it over and over in the blogging community, but for some reason this time help has helped me understand it better. Some of the topics I want to write on eventually, I currently have little knowledge about. I want to live the tips and tricks I give to you all. So from now on the posts I publish will be a reflection of my own life. I want to incorporate everything into my life (or at least try to) before I publish the post to all of you.

Keeping it real and being 100% myself is now (and always should have been) my top priority for Dreaming With Love.

  • I’m not perfect and I NEVER will be, but that’s okay.

This stems off of the idea of being genuine. It’s so easy to try to paint this picture of the perfect life, but it’s not real and it’s not as helpful.

I also realized that I put way too much pressure on myself to be on every social media platform everyday, follow my posting schedule, get the perfect pictures, etc. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to have everything perfect so when I failed, I would get so down on myself. This just made it harder to keep going.

I’m learning that I will never be perfect, I will make mistakes all the time, and it will still all be okay. <3


My plan from here on out is to really live by the rule of “Quality over Quantity”. I’ve heard this over and over, but for some reason it’s importance never clicked with me until recently. When I first started blogging, I had a lot of blog posts written, but they were mostly crap. I knew that I wanted to post a lot so I wouldn’t take enough time on each post. In reality I had bad or no pictures, short posts, unoriginal ideas, and the writing was not showing my personality.

ALL of that is going to change!

I am going to (and have already started to) write long, informative, and fun posts with exciting and beautiful pictures. I am going to write about things that I truly care about, enjoy, or want to learn more about. Dreaming With Love will be 100% real (not that it was ever fake though).

I want to post 2 to 3 times a week, but if I don’t then I don’t. I cannot put that pressure on myself again because it takes away the fun and passion of blogging. One of my posts each week will be part of a new series:


On Manda Mondays I will have more personal posts for my readers that not only want to be educated, but also want to get to know me. I will have monthly favorites, goals, updates, posts about my pets, beauty, fashion, and anything else my little heart desires. (:

Another post will be on Saturday at 5pm central and will be more of a helpful post (but still a lot of fun). This will be a post that falls more under the purpose of Dreaming With Love which is

to help people live their lives to the fullest every single day. To inspire others to follow their dreams and never settle for anything less. Lastly to teach others the joy of living a purposeful life.

These posts will fall under the categories of living a positive life, a frugal life, and a healthy life.

April 2017 Monthly Recap && May 2017 Monthly Goals

April was a rough month for me, to say the least. So I am hoping that my May 2017 Monthly Goals will be helpful and reachable.

I struggle with anxiety and depression and this month it showed up a lot more than normal. It usually isn’t very severe and is quite manageable, but it still sucks and is no fun. On top of that I have been dealing with a nasty cold that just won’t go away. Needless to say my energy was low this month. However life still goes on and I had such a busy and CRAZY month.

I finished up my 3rd year of college this month (yay!). Work was extra busy because we had our Spring radio auction. I reached a pretty big milestone on Dreaming With Love! Overall my life has been a chaotic mess this month. I am choosing to forget about the disappointments and all of the unmet goals and try again this month.

I am sick of the excuses I continue to create for myself. Sick of putting things off because “the time isn’t right”. This month all of that changes. I’m ready to get my life together. There will be some huge changes on Dreaming With Love and in my life in general. Hopefully when I come back here next month to tell you about May, I’ll have some great news to share! NOW let’s get into my April 2017 recap and my May 2017 monthly goals!

I’m not going to lie cause that would defeat the purpose of my monthly recap and goals. I didn’t complete any of my goals this month. Like I said I had a very busy month and still had many accomplishments, but none of which were goals I set for myself.

My depression really took over this month so whenever I had free time from work and school, I didn’t do much. I am going to put all of my April goals onto my May 2017 monthly goals. Sometimes we have bad days, weeks, and months. We just have to remember that it is NOT a bad life and it will pass. Push through, take care of yourself, and try not to worry too much.

Here’s to a GREAT month of May!

 Dreaming With Love Recap

Any progress is progress and I am so proud of the progress I have made on Dreaming With Love! April was the 4th month of my blog and I FINALLY hit a total of 1,000 page views! I know this isn’t a huge accomplishment in 4 months, but I’m still really proud. My numbers grew in most areas this month, including my social media accounts, so that makes me VERY happy! Thank you all SOOOOOO much for supporting me in this crazy journey <3

May is going to be a VERY exciting month for Dreaming With Love! I am doing a HUGE rebranding on my website and all my social media platforms. Finally I feel like I figured out what I want, for now at least. I would love to hear any input you have on my current and new design (coming soon)! But give me a break because I don’t like the current design either, haha. By the time you’re reading this I (hopefully) have done a lot of changing already.

May 2017 Monthly Goals

A lot of these goals will be the same as April’s goals, but there are a few new ones as well. Also if you want help creating achievable goals, I wrote a post with some of my best tips!

1. Start Newsletter

It’s finally going to happen. I did my research and chose the platform I am going to use. I hope to get at least 5 people signed up during May so keep your eye out for a sign up form!

In the beginning I won’t send out very many, maybe 2 a month? But I know I want to include exclusive content, access to free resources, updates, and an overview of what is going on with Dreaming With Love.

2. Finish (at least) 1 Crochet Project

I haven’t decided what I want to crochet yet, but it will be something small because I’m not very good yet. I think I want to make something for mother’s day. Also if possible I would like to do a few more projects this month. Follow me on Instagram to see pictures of the finished projects!

3. Read (at least) 1 book

I want to try to get back in the habit of reading a little bit every day or every other day. This month I want to finish one book and to ease myself back into reading I decided to pick an easier and shorter book than normal. I am going to read Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I’ve had this book for a long time, but have never read it. I’m very excited to get back into reading.

4. Daily Journal

Daily journaling is SO freeing and helpful for me. I haven’t done it in months and I don’t know why. I used to do it first thing in the morning for about 30 minutes while I drank my coffee. It’s something that helped me cope with the ideas and thoughts going on in my mind and I really miss it. If you struggle with any mental health problems I think it is especially helpful for that!

I plan on getting back into a morning routine this month so hopefully I am able to stick to it!

5. Stop Biting Nails

I haven’t done so in about a week which is a huge accomplishment for me! If you read my April Favorites then you know I have been using Nail Envy Nail Strengthener from OPI and it has been a game changer. This polish strengthens my nails while also being a reminder throughout the day to NOT bite my nails.

This has been testing my will power, but I really want to stick to it! I hate being so embarrassed of my gross nails. I will post a before and after picture eventually, but for now they are still too gross. Haha.

6. Scholarships

Finals consumed my life in April so I wasn’t able to start applying to scholarships yet, which sucks. This month I want to make a list of all the scholarships I want to apply to over the summer (I’ll probably add to it as time goes on). Then I also want to apply to at least 5 scholarships this month. Wish me luck! && I’d love it if you have any tips on finding and applying to scholarships!

7. Make a Gardening Plan

I feel like I am getting a late start on this, but I’ve never had any kind of garden before so I’m not really sure. I want to do some research and make a plan for what I want to plant, when to plant it, and how to take care of it. Nothing too fancy, but a few easy vegetables would be awesome for my first garden! Please let me know any tips you have!

8. 30 Day Fitness Challenge

I posted a 30 Day Bikini Body Fitness Challenge that I was supposed to do during April, but I didn’t at all. However, I started it yesterday and really hope I can stick to it!

9. Get my Life Together

This may sound like a very vague goal, but I have a plan! May is going to be a month of decluttering and organizing in my home! Along with that I have started putting together a budget binder, a life binder, and a new and improved blog binder!

Plus I am incorporating a morning, night, and cleaning routines! Routines really help me keep my life on track so I am SO excited to be bringing them back!

April 2017 Monthly Favorites

April 2017 Monthly Favorites

April was a good month for discovering new monthly favorites! The month didn’t go as planned what so ever and it was a very busy and crazy month. My April 2017 monthly favorites will show you just how crazy of a month it was. Mostly due to being sick basically the ENTIRE month. Along with that I finished up my 3rd year of college and had an extremely busy month at work.

I have been watching videos from NateWantsToBattle for a few years now. Recently I have been watching them a lot more again. I am a pretty big nerd and his pokemon parodies are some of my favorite songs to jam out to in the car. If you are into video games or enjoy fantastic music then I highly recommend NateWantsToBattle! He just came out with his first album and he is SO talented! Plus he puts SO much hard work into all of his content!

Sarah’s channel popped up in my recommended a few months ago and since I have become obsessed. When I first found her channel it was largely about minimalism and veganism so it isn’t the typical type of channel I like to watch. Yet I did anyways.

Since then she has been focusing more on inspirational messages and tips on how to follow and conquer your dreams. She is so inspiring and I absolutely LOVE her positive attitude! Watching her videos brighten up my mood instantly!

I may be a little biased because she is from Wisconsin, but she is seriously so great!

PlantBasedMatt is Sarah’s husband and he has a similar outlook on life as her. His channel is mainly about veganism, which I have grown more and more interested in since watching them. He only recently started his channel and I LOVE seeing how quickly he is improving in front of the camera!

If you are interested in veganism or living a healthier life then I HIGHLY recommend PlantBasedMatt!

Oh my gosh! This girl gives me so much happiness! She is the sweetest human being ever and makes the CUTEST art projects!

Honestly though she is so incredibly talented! I also love that she will ALWAYS tell it how it is and ALWAYS tell us the honest truth. Her videos are so much fun to watch and I recommend them to anyone who needs a little cheering up!


  • Google Photos

Google Photos has been a HUGE life saver for me! I have decided to try a little on my Instagram so my memory on my phone has been filling up FAST. Google Photos is a way for me to have the photos and videos on my phone AND computer without taking up extra memory space! I love it so much!

And having access to my photos on any device QUICKLY and EASILY has been amazing! HIGHLY recommend!

  • Risk

I’m sure most of you know about the board game Risk. Well they made it into an app and it now takes up a lot of my time.

  • Musical.ly

Yes I know, I’m super late on this one. I had the app when it was first popular, but deleted it soon after. Now I’m obsessed!

It’s so much fun watching and getting inspiration from other’s videos. && I have a blast making fun videos of me and my kitties. Haha!

  • Burrito Bison

I was SO excited about this one! I used to play this game on the computer and now it’s an app. YAY! More ways for me to procrastinate….

Haha but honestly this is a fantastic game. One game of it doesn’t take long to play so it’s one of the better apps to procrastinate on.


  • Weeds

This was recommended to me by one of my friends and I have been loving it. I LOVE that it has a female lead. The show keeps you in suspense sometimes and overall has a good story-line.

  • 13 Reasons Why

I hopped on this bandwagon late and I’m about half way through the season… Still not sure how I feel about it. I already know how it ends because some JERK spoiled it for me. I think the concept for the show is really good, but I’m indifferent about how they went about some of the stuff. But I am going to continue watching and I’ll let you know my final thoughts.

  • Grey’s Anatomy

Yes I know this has been in my past couple of favorites posts, but guess what?? It’s in my April 2017 monthly favorites too!

Still one of my favorite shows even though half of the cast is dead or gone.


  • Peeps

What is an April 2017 monthly favorites post without including peeps?

Don’t judge me. Yes I am one of the few people on the planet that likes peeps. So when Easter comes around each year I get more than one person should have.

This year I also incorporated them into an Easter Dessert!

  • Apples

My two food favorites this month are completely opposite.. Haha! I have really been loving apples for a snack though! Most of this month I have been cutting up an apple and bringing it with me after lunch to snack on at work. They taste great, they are healthy for you, and they are VERY affordable! What’s not to like?


  • Renpure Originals Coconut Water Mist

I ran out of leave-in conditioner in the beginning of April and when I went to buy the same stuff I have been loving and using for months, the store was all out. So I took a risk and bought this leave-in treatment from Renpure Originals. Now I LOVE it! It smells great, leaves my hair smooth and soft, and removes the tangles so well! Plus it was very inexpensive!

  • OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener

If you read my April monthly goals then you know I am trying to stop biting my nails, it is such a NASTY habit. My mom gave me a bottle of the nail envy nail strengthener from OPI and it has been helping a ton! Having it on my nails not only strengthens them, but also reminds me to NOT bite my nails!

If your nails are weaker than you want, this stuff works miracles!

  • Tarte Maracuja Oil

Still LOVING this oil! Still have the same tiny bottle that I first received. I wrote an entire review on it HERE if you wanna know more about it!


I’ve loved pinterest for years now. However, this month I have been spending a ton of time on it again. It’s literally the best! So I just HAD to include it in my April 2017 monthly favorites.

I’m sure most of you already know what it is, but for those who don’t it is basically a visual search engine. I get all of my best ideas on every topic from Pinterest! I’d love it if you all checked out my Pinterest profile && leave a link to your pinterest in the comments so I can check out your profile as well!

This site is AWESOME and I know there are other sites similar, but this is my most favorite. Basically it just has every color scheme ever and you can even create your own! You can search for them with certain colors or keywords and I just love it! There is something so calming about seeing beautiful color schemes! && it makes it much easier to create beautiful graphics!


  • DayQuil + NyQuil

If you follow me on twitter then you know I’ve been sick the majority of April. DayQuil and NyQuil were my best friends for a couple of weeks so I had to include them.

  • Rice Pack

I don’t think I’ve ever used my rice pack as much as I did this month. It has been such a BLESSING to have! The sickness has made my entire body sore and the rice pack has helped so much! If you don’t have one, go get one OR they are SUPER easy to make if you know basic sewing.

  • Cough Drops

My sickness passed, but the terrible and annoying cough is STILL here. Cough drops and water are the only things that help. Hoping it goes away soon!

  • Thankful Thursdays

This month I started a new series called Thankful Thursdays and just posted week 4 yesterday! I have been LOVING this series because it has been holding me accountable to really take a step back and be thankful for the little things in life. Now I don’t know if you all are enjoying it or not, but it has been helping me a ton. Check it out and I highly recommend for everyone to do something similar!

Too often in life we only look at everything going bad instead of all of the things going right. They are so easy to overlook, but we need to be reminded of all the things in life to be thankful for!

April 2017 Ipsy Unboxing and Product Reviews {Monthly Subscription}

My favorite time of the month, April 2017 Ipsy Unboxing! For those of you who have never heard of Ipsy, it is a monthly subscription. It costs $10 per month and in return you receive a makeup bag with 4-5 samples. I love it and it is almost always worth the $10! When you sign up they have you take a little quiz to give you products that you will like. Then each month you can review everything you’ve received so they can adjust what they send you. I highly recommend this monthly subscription!

This month’s bag is quite different from past bags, but I really like it. It’s probably just the film obsessed part of me that likes it so much. My mom gave her bag away as soon as she received it, haha. I’m not sure if I will use it as a bag or just decoration, but part of me really likes it.

OFRA Cosmetics Rendezvous Blush

Blush is one of my favorite products to use so I always get a little excited when I receive a new one. This blush is a very natural tone and has a slight brown tone (the picture does not show true color). I normally go for more pink and red tones for blush, but I am excited to try something new. I’ve also never used this brand which is always very exciting. However, it is a very small size and comes without a compact, which is kind of annoying.


Like I said this is a very natural looking blush, but I really like it. This will be perfect for my minimal makeup days. It blends out very smoothly and lasts all day long.

MintPear Vitamin C Serum

This product is very interesting to me and I’m not sure how to feel about it. It is a Vitamin C Serum that is supposed to “lighten, tighten, and brighten” your skin. The bottle is a very small size (like everything else in this month’s bag) but I should be able to get a decent amount of uses out of it. It doesn’t have a very strong smell, but the scent that it does have is not very good.


I used this every night for a week and was SO impressed with the results. Even the first morning I noticed a difference in the color of my face! I deal with redness in my face and this lighten the red color so much. I will definitely be repurchasing this product and continuing to use it to see if it will continue to improve my skin.

Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Glow Shimmer Shadow & Highlighter

A BEAUTIFUL shadow AND highlighter from Elizabeth Mott. I am very excited for this product! It is also a small size, but as a shadow/highlighter it will last a long time. It is a gorgeous color, but it is a little more natural looking than most of my highlighters. However it will be GORGEOUS on the inner corner of my eyes! Overall I am happy and very excited about this product.


This product is SO GORGEOUS and lasts all day long! I absolutely love it and I hope it lasts me a long time! Elizabeth Mott never fails me.

EM Cosmetics Illustrative Eyeliner Brush Tip

I LOVE receiving new eyeliners because I have yet to find the “perfect” one. Trying different types of formula and applicators is always good because it helps me know what I like and don’t like. This liner has a very nice pigment and goes on easily. I am excited to give it a try to see how long it lasts on my oily eyelids!


It isn’t my favorite applicator for liquid eyeliner but the product is so nice. It lasts all day even on my oily eyelids! I’m going to play around with it a little more and hopefully I will start to like the brush tip more.

Josie Maran Cosmetics Whipped Argan Oil Face Butter

I always enjoy trying new skin care products so I was pretty excited about this product. It is a very small size, once again, but I should be able to get a few uses from it.


After using this for a few days, I was neither impressed nor disappointed. It’s a decent face butter, but it doesn’t do anything extra special for me. If I had a bigger size and was able to use it for longer, maybe I would like it better.

I wasn’t very impressed with my April Ipsy. All of the products are something new to me (which is awesome), but they are also all very small sizes. The bag is different, but I like it. Also most of the brands are new to me so that is great as well. I have nothing to really complain about, except the sizes of the products, but I also don’t have anything I am super excited about. It wasn’t a terrible bag, but it wasn’t great either.

March 2017 Monthly Recap & April 2017 Monthly Goals

March flew by, but I am so glad it did! Not because it was a bad month, it was actually a fantastic month, but it was cold. Obviously it has been cold for the past 6 months, but in March we saw a glimpse of warmth which made the cold that much worse. Other than that I had a very busy and productive month! I am ready for April and so excited for the things I have planned! So now on to my March 2017 Monthly Recap and my April 2017 Monthly Goals!

March Recap 2017

Make sure to read my March 2017 Goals before reading the recap!

1. Get everything completely unpacked

For those of you who don’t know, I moved in the beginning of March. One of my goals this month was to get everything completely unpacked. I am almost finished and plan on finishing up this weekend! It feels so good to have almost everything unpacked and organized.

2. Start a Budget

I kind of completed this goal. I started using an app called spending tracker and I love it. It has been helping so much and I think it put me on the right path I needed. I plan to sit down and work out a budget very soon. Let me know if you have any tips!

3. Complete 30-Day Challenge and Start a new one

I finished this goal and couldn’t be more proud! I started a 30-Day Fitness Challenge for arms and abs in the beginning of March and recently finished successfully! Also I began the 30-Day Water Gallon Challenge and am still struggling to complete it. There will be a post with a review of the gallon challenge after the 30 days are up. Also I will be starting a new 30-Day Fitness Challenge on Tuesday, April 4th!

Overall Thoughts on March

March turned out to be a better month than I thought it would be. I was finally able to start getting back into a routine and I know it will be even better when I completely finish unpacking and organizing. I was also able to start cooking and baking more after two months without my own kitchen. Oh how I have missed it!

 Dreaming With Love March Recap

March was the 3rd month of Dreaming With Love and I am so proud of how far I have come already. There has been a lot of hard work, setbacks, and daily struggles. However, I have persisted and came out on top every time! My page views and social media numbers grew the most this month than the past two which made me beyond excited. I have been having a hard time not comparing myself to other bloggers. Reminding myself daily to only compete with myself and that any progress is still progress.

April 2017 Monthly Goals

1. Start Crocheting Again

I learned how to crochet last year and love doing it. I’m not very good at it yet (practice makes perfect), but I have created a few items. I haven’t crocheted at all yet this year and I have multiple projects in mind. Normally I will crochet while I watch TV, but lately I have been so busy between work, school, blogging, and unpacking. This month I want to make time for it again!

2. Read (at least 1 book)

I used to read every day and reading is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Since I started college I rarely read anything for enjoyment anymore. This month I really hope to be able to set aside time each day or every other day.

3. Daily Journal

Having a daily journal helped me so much when I was struggling mentally last year. I really want to get back into the habit of daily journaling so I made it a goal this month!

4. Stop Biting Nails

I am so sick of being embarrassed of my short and weak nails. Since I can remember I have had an absolutely terrible habit of biting my nails. I feel too self conscious to wear nail polish because it draws attention to my ugly nails. Enough is enough. I am quitting and April will be the first month!

5. Scholarships

The fall semester will be here before we know it (I know it’s still spring semester but trust me). I want to get a head start and start applying for scholarships now. For April I am hoping to apply to at least 5 scholarships. I also want to find a bunch with deadlines later in the summer and have a list made. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

6. 30 Day Fitness Challenge

If you don’t already know, I did a 30-Day Fitness Challenge for arms and abs in March! I want to try to do a new challenge every month. My April one will be starting on Tuesday, April 4th!

7. Make a Gardening Plan

I have decided that I want to do a little gardening this year. I am finally in a house of my own with a back yard rather than an apartment! Now I don’t want a huge garden, but I would like to try to grow a few low maintenance vegetables. I have zero experience except when my parents used to force me to pick weeds. So I want to do some research and make a plan for this summer. I would love to hear any tips and suggestions you have!

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! However, many of us (me included) skip breakfast on occasion or every single day. I find myself not having time to make breakfast in the morning and it is easily pushed down on my priority list. To overcome this I decided to have some easy, quick, and healthy options available in my fridge/freezer. Here are 3 easy & healthy breakfast ideas! All of these can be made ahead of time so they are perfect to grab before work or school!

1. Yogurt Parfait

This is one of my absolute favorites to have in the morning! It doesn’t require cooking anything so it is the easiest of the three and it is the healthiest as well.

All you need is fruit of your choice (my favorite is strawberries and blueberries), yogurt, and granola.

Layer your yogurt with you fruit and then add the granola on top. Put it in a mason jar or Tupperware, place it in the fridge, grab it in the morning, and eat it on the go!

2. Egg & Sausage Sandwich

This sandwich is so good, comparable to the egg mcmuffin, but way better and healthier!

You will need some sausage patties, fried eggs, and english muffins. Cut the english muffins in half and toast them. Also remember to place your sausage patties on some paper towel after cooking them to help get some grease off.

Now place one egg and one sausage patty on each muffin. You can also add a slice of cheese if you want. Also if you don’t like sausage then bacon or ham is also good.

Next just wrap up the sandwiches in plastic wrap and place them in the freezer until morning.

3. Egg & Sausage burritos

Similar to the sandwich, but in burrito form. Good tip: Hot sauce tastes delicious on these!

For the burritos you need some tortilla shells, cooked sausage, and scrambled eggs.

Place some sausage and eggs in each shell. At this point you can also add shredded cheese! Now roll up the burritos!

Finally wrap up each of the burritos in plastic wrap just like the sandwich and place them into the freezer until morning.
